Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method of manufacturing an arcuate blade for a broadhead including: stamping a shape of a blade from a material, the blade having an inner and outer edge; grinding the inner edge of the blade to form a cutting edge; forming the blade into an arcuate shape; tempering the blade to harden the material; and electrolyzing the blade into a finished product.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of manufacturing an arcuate blade for a broadhead comprising:
 stamping a shape of a blade from a material, the blade having an inner and outer edge;   grinding the inner edge of the blade to form a cutting edge;   forming the blade into an arcuate shape;   tempering the blade to harden the material; and   electrolyzing the blade into a finished product.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step of tempering occurs after the step of forming the blade into an arcuate shape. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising grinding the outer edge of the blade. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step of electrolyzing the blade comprises electrolyzing the grinded cutting portion of the blade. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step of electrolyzing the blade comprises electrolyzing the entire blade. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step of forming the blade into an arcuate shape comprises forming the blade to include:
 a base portion configured to be received in a slot of a body portion of a broadhead,   an inner side including the inner edge, and   an outer side.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step stamping the blade includes stamping two opposing blade portions extending in opposite directions form a middle portion. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the step of forming the blade comprises forming each of the two opposing blade portions to accurately extend toward each other. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the step of forming further includes forming each of the two opposing blade portions to include an opening at an arch of each blade. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step of forming the blade into an arcuate shape includes forming a notch at a proximal portion of the blade for securing under a tip of a broadhead. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising attaching the blade to a ferrule using a screw.
