Claims

Abstract

A time code signal is transmitted. An audio input is provided. An audio signal is received through the audio input. A first time code signal is generated. A value of the first time code signal is displayed on a display. A data stream including the audio signal with the first time code signal superimposed on the audio signal is generated. The data stream is transmitted to a first external device. An interruptible feedback signal is transmitted to the first external device or a second external device. A talkback signal is transmitted between a second external device and a third external device. A second time code signal is received from a second external device and the first time code signal is synchronized with the second time code signal. An interface is provided for noting the value of the first time code signal.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of transmitting a time code signal, comprising:
 providing a first audio signal including a plurality of digital samples;   providing a time code signal including a plurality of bits; and   transmitting a data stream, wherein each bit of the time code signal replaces a bit of the first audio signal.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , further including audibly playing the data stream including the first audio signal and time code signal. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , further including:
 receiving the data stream on a mobile device; and   reproducing the first audio signal with the mobile device.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , further including isolating the time code signal from the data stream. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , further including storing the data stream on a mass storage device. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , further including synchronizing the first audio signal to a video signal using the time code signal. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein transmitting the time code signal further includes:
 providing a control signal; and   replacing a bit of the first audio signal with a bit of the control signal.   
     
     
         8 . A method of transmitting a control signal, comprising:
 providing an audio signal;   providing a control signal; and   transmitting the audio signal with a bit of the audio signal replaced by a bit of the control signal.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , further including audibly playing the audio signal including the bit of the control signal. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 8 , further including:
 receiving the audio signal on a mobile device; and   reproducing the audio signal with the mobile device.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 8 , further including isolating the bit of the control signal from the audio signal after transmitting the audio signal. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the control signal includes a time code signal. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 12 , further including synchronizing the audio signal to a video signal using the time code signal. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 13 , wherein synchronizing the audio signal to a video signal includes:
 calculating a delay in the transmission of the audio signal; and   transmitting a calibration signal to synchronize the audio signal and video signal.   
     
     
         15 . A method of transmitting data, comprising:
 providing a first data signal;   providing a second data signal; and   transmitting the first data signal with a portion of the first data signal replaced by a portion of the second data signal.   
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 15 , further including isolating the portion of the second data signal from the first data signal. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 15 , further including storing the first data signal on a mass storage device with the portion of the second data signal. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 15 , further including receiving the first data signal with a mobile device. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein the first data signal includes an audio signal and the second data signal includes a time code signal. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 19 , further including synchronizing the audio signal to a video signal using the time code signal.
