Multi-Port Shower Fixture
Abstract
A two-port (or multi-port) shower fixture that can be hung or otherwise attached to a bathroom ceiling above a tub or wall near a tub. The invention can be added to an existing tub/shower. The invention includes an elongated member with internal plumbing which may be rectangular or circular in cross-section, or have any cross-section. It can be several feet long. The elongated member typically has two or more shower ports on its lower surface typically equipped with normal shower heads. The elongated member has a connection hose that can be attached to a normal wall shower water outlet port. Embodiments of the invention can have an external valve that controls each of the shower ports separately and can include electric motors for raising and lowering the device over a tub. The invention can have optional LED lighting and wireless or wired sound.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A shower device comprising:
an member adapted to be mounted over a bathtub or in a shower, the member including two separated shower head ports, said ports being plumbed to a connection device on an end of said member; wherein said device can be fluid-connected to an existing wall shower water outlet fixture.
2 . The shower device of claim 1 wherein each of said shower head ports has an attached shower head.
3 . The shower device of claim 2 wherein each attached shower head can be adjusted to produce a different spray pattern.
4 . The shower device of claim 1 wherein said ports are separately plumbed to a pair of connection devices on the end of said member, and wherein a pair of flexible hoses attach said connection devices to a selector valve that can be plumbed to said existing wall shower water outlet fixture.
5 . The shower device of claim 1 wherein said member contains a mechanism for raising and lowering said device above the tub.
6 . The shower device of claim 5 wherein said mechanism includes at least one low voltage electric motor.
7 . The shower device of claim 1 further comprising a plurality of lights attached to said member.
8 . The shower device of claim 1 further comprising a speaker attached to said member.
9 . A method for retrofitting a tub/shower with a ceiling above the tub comprising:
installing at least two hanging hooks in the ceiling; hanging an elongated member from said hooks, the elongated member including two separated shower head ports, said ports being plumbed to a connection device on an end of said elongated member; fluid-connecting said elongated member from the connection device to an existing wall shower water outlet fixture.
10 . The method of claim 9 further comprising fluid connecting said elongated member from two connection devices on the elongated member through a diverter valve and then to the existing wall shower outlet fixture.
11 . The method of claim 9 wherein said elongated member contains a raising/lowering mechanism.
12 . The method of claim 9 wherein said elongated member includes a plurality of lights.
13 . The method of claim 9 wherein said elongated member includes a speaker.
14 . A shower device comprising:
an elongated member adapted to be mounted from a ceiling in a shower, or on a wall in the shower, the elongated member including two separated shower head ports, said ports being separately plumbed to at least two connection devices on an end of said elongated member; wherein said device can be fluid-connected to an existing wall shower water outlet fixture through a diverter valve such that each shower head port can be separately adjusted.
15 . The shower device of claim 14 wherein each of said shower head ports has an attached shower head.
16 . The shower device of claim 15 wherein each attached shower head can be adjusted to produce a different spray pattern.
17 . The shower device of claim 15 wherein said elongated member contains a mechanism for raising and lowering said device above the tub.
18 . The shower device of claim 17 wherein said mechanism includes at least one low voltage electric motor.
19 . The shower device of claim 15 further comprising a plurality of lights attached to said elongated member.
20 . The shower device of claim 15 further comprising a speaker attached to said elongated member.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
