Abstract
A device and method process voice communication service. A mobile terminal device of the present disclosure includes a microphone arranged at one end of a body of the device; a speaker arranged close to the microphone; a transceiver arranged at the other end of the body; a codec including a coder connected to the microphone, a decoder connected to the speaker, and a switch of which one node is connected to one of the coder and the decoder selectively and the other node is connected to the transceiver; and a communication controller which controls the switch to establish a path between the coder and the transceiver and enables the speaker in speakerphone mode.

21 . An apparatus comprising:
a first receiver to receive sound; a first transmitter to output sound; a transceiver comprising a second receiver and a second transmitter; and a controller operatively coupled with at least one of the first receiver, the first transmitter or the transceiver, the controller configured to:
determine which one of the second receiver and the second transmitter to provide a service; and
connect either the first receiver or the first transmitter to the transceiver, according to the determination.
22 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the controller is configured to:
provide the service to a user via the transceiver and the connected either one of the first receiver and the first transmitter.
23 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the controller is configured to:
establish, using a switch, a path between the transceiver and one of a coder and a decoder, according to the determination, the coder corresponding to the second receiver and the decoder corresponding to the second transmitter.
24 . The apparatus of claim 23 , wherein the coder is operatively coupled with the first receiver and the decoder is operatively coupled with the first transmitter.
25 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the controller is configured to:
provide the service via a path including a coder, the second receiver and the first transmitter, according to the determination regarding which one of the second receiver and the second transmitter to provide the service.
26 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the controller is configured to:
provide the service via a path including a decoder, the second transmitter, and the first receiver, in response to the second transmitter being determined to provide the service.
27 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the second receiver is configured to receive sound and the second transmitter is configured to output sound.
28 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the controller is configured to:
adjust a power to supply to the transceiver, based on the determination.
29 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein each of the first and second receivers includes a microphone.
30 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein each of the first and second transmitter includes a speaker.
31 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the service comprises at least one of a speakerphone service, a handset phone service, an outgoing call-making service, or an incoming call-receiving service.
32 . A method comprising:
determining at an electronic device, one function from a plurality of functions of a transceiver operatively coupled with the electronic device, the plurality of functions including a first function to receive sound and a second function to output sound; connecting either a microphone or a speaker to the transceiver, according to the determined function; and providing a service to a user via the transceiver and the connected either one of the microphone and the speaker.
33 . The method of claim 32 , wherein the determining comprising:
adjusting a power to supply to the transceiver, based on the determined function.
34 . The method of claim 32 , further comprising:
establishing a path using a switch between the transceiver and one of a coder or a decoder, according to the determined function, the coder corresponding to the first function and the decoder corresponding to the second function.
35 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the coder operatively coupled with the microphone and the decoder operatively coupled with the speaker.
36 . The method of claim 34 , wherein establishing the path comprising:
driving a power to control to a codec, the codec comprising the switch, the coder, and the decoder.
37 . The method of claim 32 , wherein providing the service comprising:
providing the service via a path including a coder, the transceiver and the speaker, in response to the determination function being the first function.
38 . The method of claim 32 , wherein providing the service comprising:
providing the service via a path including a decoder, the transceiver, and the microphone, in response to the determination function being the second function.
39 . The method of claim 32 , wherein further comprising:
disabling either one of the microphone and the speaker, according to the determination function.
40 . A machine-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
determining at an electronic device, one function from a plurality of functions of a transceiver operatively coupled with the electronic device, the plurality of functions including a first function to receive sound and a second function to output sound; connecting either a microphone or a speaker to the transceiver, according to the determination function; and providing a service to a user via the transceiver and the connected either one of the microphone and the speaker.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
