Abstract
A system may generate a view area based on a field of view of an advertising unit, a sight distance from the advertising unit and a view direction associated with the advertising unit; identify a set of road segments that fall within the view area of the advertising unit; and associate the advertising unit as being viewable to mobile subscribers of a network service provider traversing the identified set of road segments. The system may further receive a request for a report including information regarding an audience available to the advertising unit over a period of time; query a data warehouse for aggregate subscriber data associated with locations of the set of road segments over the period of time; and generate the report regarding the audience for the ad unit over the period of time based on the retrieved aggregate subscriber data.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A computing device configured to execute a software application on a processor of the computing device to provide operations comprising:
generating a view area based on a field of view of an advertising unit, a sight distance from the advertising unit and a view direction associated with the advertising unit, the field of view indicative of an off-center horizontal angle beyond which the advertising unit is deemed out of sight, the sight distance indicative of a horizontal distance from the advertising unit in the field of view beyond which the advertising unit is deemed out of sight; identifying, from map data of an area surrounding the advertising unit, a set of road segments that fall within the view area of the advertising unit; and associating the advertising unit as being viewable to mobile subscribers of a network service provider traversing the identified set of road segments, the association being stored in memory for retrieval in response to requests for data regarding the advertising unit.
2 . The computing device of claim 1 , further configured to execute the software application to provide operations comprising:
receiving a request for a report providing information regarding an audience available to the advertising unit over a period of time; querying a data warehouse for aggregate subscriber data associated with locations of the set of road segments over the period of time, the aggregate subscriber data compiled from the network usage of the mobile subscribers of the network service provider; and generating the report regarding the audience for the ad unit over the period of time based on the retrieved aggregate subscriber data.
3 . The computing device of claim 1 , further configured to execute the software application to provide operations comprising removing at least one road segment from the set of road segments by at least one of:
(i) removing a road segment from the set of road segments that is associated with a direction of travel away from the view direction associated with an advertising unit; (ii) removing a road segment from the set of road segments that is headed out of an intersection when the set of road segments includes road segments headed into the intersection; and (iii) removing a segment from the set of road segments associated with a name of another segment in the set of road segments and headed in the same direction as the other segment.

The computing device of claim 1 , further configured to execute the software application to provide operations comprising identifying the set of road segments that fall within the view area of the advertising unit by selecting road segments of the map data for which at least a predefined minimum distance of road segment roadway is within the view area.

The computing device of claim 1 , further configured to execute the software application to provide operations comprising determining at least one of the field of view and the sight distance based on attributes of the advertising unit, the attributes including at least one of: width of the advertising unit, height of the advertising unit, and type of the advertising unit.

The computing device of claim 1 , further configured to execute the software application to provide operations comprising generating the view area as a triangle fan including set of connected triangles that each share one central vertex emanating from a horizontal midpoint of the advertising unit in the view direction.

The computing device of claim 1 , further configured to execute the software application to provide operations comprising providing information regarding each of the road segments including at least two of: road segment name, road segment length, road segment length within the view area of the advertising unit, whether the road segment begins within the view area, whether the road segment ends within the view area, and a speed limit of traffic over the road segment.
8 . A method, comprising:
generating, by a segment identifier module executed by an ad unit reporting device, a view area based on a field of view of an advertising unit, a sight distance from the advertising unit and a view direction associated with the advertising unit, the field of view indicative of an off-center horizontal angle beyond which the advertising unit is deemed out of sight, the sight distance indicative of a horizontal distance from the advertising unit in the field of view beyond which the advertising unit is deemed out of sight; identifying, by the segment identifier module from map data of an area surrounding the advertising unit, a set of road segments that fall within the view area of the advertising unit; and associating, by segment identifier module, the advertising unit as being viewable to mobile subscribers of a network service provider traversing the identified set of road segments, the association being stored in memory for retrieval in response to requests for data regarding the advertising unit.
9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
receiving, by a report generator module executed by the ad unit reporting device, a request for a report providing information regarding an audience available to the advertising unit over a period of time; querying, by the report generator module, a data warehouse for aggregate subscriber data associated with locations of the set of road segments over the period of time, the aggregate subscriber data compiled from the network usage of the mobile subscribers of the network service provider; and generating, by the report generator module, the report regarding the audience for the ad unit over the period of time based on the retrieved aggregate subscriber data.
10 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising removing at least one road segment from the set of road segments by at least one of:
(i) removing a road segment from the set of road segments that is associated with a direction of travel away from the view direction associated with an advertising unit; (ii) removing a road segment from the set of road segments that is headed out of an intersection when the set of road segments includes road segments headed into the intersection; and (iii) removing a segment from the set of road segments associated with a name of another segment in the set of road segments and headed in the same direction as the other segment.
11 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising identifying the set of road segments that fall within the view area of the advertising unit by selecting road segments of the map data for which at least a predefined minimum distance of road segment roadway is within the view area.

The method of claim 8 , further comprising determining at least one of the field of view and the sight distance based on attributes of the advertising unit, the attributes including at least one of: width of the advertising unit, height of the advertising unit, and type of the advertising unit.
13 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising generating the view area as a triangle fan including set of connected triangles that each share one central vertex emanating from a horizontal midpoint of the advertising unit in the view direction.

The method of claim 8 , further comprising providing information regarding each of the road segments including at least two of: road segment name, road segment length, road segment length within the view area of the advertising unit, whether the road segment begins within the view area, whether the road segment ends within the view area, and a speed limit of traffic over the road segment.
15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium tangibly embodying computer-executable instructions of a software program, the software program being executable by a processor of a computing device to provide operations comprising:
generating a view area based on a field of view of an advertising unit, a sight distance from the advertising unit and a view direction associated with the advertising unit, the field of view indicative of an off-center horizontal angle beyond which the advertising unit is deemed out of sight, the sight distance indicative of a horizontal distance from the advertising unit in the field of view beyond which the advertising unit is deemed out of sight; identifying, from map data of an area surrounding the advertising unit, a set of road segments that fall within the view area of the advertising unit; and associating the advertising unit as being viewable to mobile subscribers of a network service provider traversing the identified set of road segments, the association being stored in memory for retrieval in response to requests for data regarding the advertising unit.
16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , the software program being further executable by the processor of the computing device to provide operations comprising:
receiving a request for a report including information regarding an audience available to the advertising unit over a period of time; querying a data warehouse for aggregate subscriber data associated with locations of the set of road segments over the period of time, the aggregate subscriber data compiled from the network usage of the mobile subscribers of the network service provider; and generating the report regarding the audience for the ad unit over the period of time based on the retrieved aggregate subscriber data.
17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , the software program being further executable by the processor of the computing device to provide operations comprising:
(i) removing a road segment from the set of road segments that is associated with a direction of travel away from the view direction associated with an advertising unit; (ii) removing a road segment from the set of road segments that is headed out of an intersection when the set of road segments includes road segments headed into the intersection; and (iii) removing a segment from the set of road segments associated with a name of another segment in the set of road segments and headed in the same direction as the other segment.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , the software program being further executable by the processor of the computing device to provide operations comprising identifying the set of road segments that fall within the view area of the advertising unit by selecting road segments of the map data for which at least a predefined minimum distance of road segment roadway is within the view area.
