Abstract

An option list is customized for a user. Titles are retrieved that are related to the user's historical preference for content. A content database is then searched for an additional title of content that is unrelated to the user's historical preference for content. The option list is generated to include the titles and the additional title.

1 . A method, comprising:
 receiving, at a server, a genre of content historically associated with a user;   retrieving, by the server, titles of content related to the genre of content;   searching, by the server, a content database for an additional title of content unrelated to the genre of content; and   generating, by the server, an option list comprising the titles of content and the additional title of content unrelated to the genre of content.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising sending the option list to an address associated with the user. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein searching the content database comprises searching for a purchase history associated with the user. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein searching the content database comprises searching the content database for an historical purchase associated with the user. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein searching the content database comprises searching the content database for a credit card purchase associated with the user. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein searching the content database comprises searching the content database for property associated with the user. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein searching the content database comprises searching the content database for a demographic associated with the user. 
     
     
         8 . A system, comprising:
 a processor; and   a memory storing instructions that when executed cause the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:   receiving a genre of content historically associated with a user;   retrieving titles of content related to the genre of content;   searching a content database for an additional title of content unrelated to the genre of content; and   generating an option list comprising the titles of content and the additional title of content unrelated to the genre of content.   
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise sending the option list to an address associated with the user. 
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise searching the content database for a purchase history associated with the user. 
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise searching the content database for an historical purchase associated with the user. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise searching the content database for a credit card purchase associated with the user. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise searching the content database for property associated with the user. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise searching the content database for a demographic associated with the user. 
     
     
         15 . A memory storing instructions that when executed cause a processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
 receiving a genre of content historically associated with a user;   retrieving titles of content related to the genre of content;   searching a content database for an additional title of content unrelated to the genre of content; and   generating an option list comprising the titles of content and the additional title of content unrelated to the genre of content.   
     
     
         16 . The memory of  claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise sending the option list to an address associated with the user. 
     
     
         17 . The memory of  claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise searching the content database for a purchase history associated with the user. 
     
     
         18 . The memory of  claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise searching the content database for an historical purchase associated with the user. 
     
     
         19 . The memory of  claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise searching the content database for a credit card purchase associated with the user. 
     
     
         20 . The memory of  claim 15 , searching the content database for a demographic associated with the user.
