NOVEL SURFACE EXPOSED HAEMOPHILUS INFLUENZAE PROTEIN (PROTEIN E; pE)
Abstract
The present invention relates to a surface exposed protein (protein E, pE), a virnlence factor, which can be detected in Haemophilus influenzae , having an amino acid sequence as described in SEQ ID NO 1, an immunogenic fragment of said surface exposed protein, and a recombinant immunogenic protein (pE (A)) or truncated variants thereof based on said surface exposed protein. Nucleic acid sequences, vaccines, plasmids and phages, non human hosts, recombinant nucleic acid sequences, fusion proteins and fusion products are also described. A method of producing the said protein or truncated fragments thereof recombinantly is also disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A vaccine composition comprising a surface exposed protein, which can be detected in Haemophilus influenzae , having an amino acid sequence as described in Sequence ID No. 1, or a fragment thereof, wherein the fragment comprises an amino acid sequence having at least 15 contiguous amino acids from the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 which fragment (if necessary when coupled to a carrier) is capable of raising an immune response which recognises the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:1.
