Disc throwing game having illumination means

Abstract

The invention comprises a target for a disc throwing game having at least one receptacle having a wall, the wall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and at least one aperture therein, an illumination means secured to the inner surface of the wall, and, a first reflective member secured to the inner surface of the wall, operatively arranged to reflect light from the illumination means through the at least one aperture.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A target for a disc throwing game, comprising:
 at least one receptacle having a wall, said wall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and at least one aperture therein;   an illumination means secured to said inner surface of said wall; and,   a first reflective member secured to said inner surface of said wall, operatively arranged to reflect light from said illumination means through said at least one aperture.   
     
     
         2 . The target recited in  claim 1 , wherein said at least one receptacle comprises at least one portion of said inner wall is of a color which substantially absorbs light and at least one portion which is reflective of light. 
     
     
         3 . The target recited in  claim 1 , wherein said illumination means is an LED. 
     
     
         4 . The target recited in  claim 1 , wherein said illumination means is an incandescent light. 
     
     
         5 . The target recited in  claim 1 , wherein said illumination means is secured to said inner surface of said wall below said at least one aperture. 
     
     
         6 . The target recited in  claim 1 , wherein said first reflective member is disposed proximate to and circumscribing said illumination means. 
     
     
         7 . The target recited in  claim 6 , further comprising a second reflective member secured to said inner surface of said wall, operatively arranged to reflect light from said illumination means through said at least one aperture, said second reflective member disposed diametrically opposite said illumination means. 
     
     
         8 . The target recited in  claim 1 , wherein said wall forms a cylindrically shaped target. 
     
     
         9 . A target for a disc throwing game, comprising:
 at least one receptacle having a wall, said wall having at least one aperture therein; and,   a flotation member fixedly secured to said receptacle.   
     
     
         10 . The target recited in  claim 9 , wherein the aperture is a slot. 
     
     
         11 . The target recited in  claim 9 , wherein said wall forms a cylindrically shaped target. 
     
     
         12 . The target described in  claim 9 , wherein said flotation member is constructed of laminated polyethylene foam. 
     
     
         13 . The target described in  claim 9 , wherein said flotation member is constructed of polyvinyl chloride. 
     
     
         14 . A target for a disc throwing game, comprising:
 at least one receptacle having a wall, said wall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and at least one aperture therein;   an illumination means secured to said inner surface of said wall;   a first reflective member secured to said inner surface of said wall, operatively arranged to reflect light from said illumination means through said at least one aperture; and,   a flotation member fixedly secured to said receptacle.   
     
     
         15 . The target recited in  claim 14 , wherein said at least one receptacle comprises at least one portion of said inner wall is of a color which substantially absorbs light and at least one portion which is reflective of light. 
     
     
         16 . The target recited in  claim 14 , wherein said illumination means is an LED. 
     
     
         17 . The target recited in  claim 14 , wherein said illumination means is secured to said inner surface of said wall below said at least one aperture. 
     
     
         18 . The target recited in  claim 14 , wherein said first reflective member is disposed proximate to and circumscribing said illumination means. 
     
     
         19 . The target recited in  claim 18 , further comprising a second reflective member secured to said inner surface of said wall, operatively arranged to reflect light from said illumination means through said at least one aperture, said second reflective member disposed diametrically opposite said illumination means. 
     
     
         20 . The target recited in  claim 14 , wherein said wall forms a cylindrically shaped target. 
     
     
         21 . The target described in  claim 14 , wherein said flotation member is constructed of laminated polyethylene foam. 
     
     
         22 . The target recited in  claim 14 , wherein said flotation member is constructed of a high-density polyethylene. 
     
     
         23 . A disc throwing game assembly, comprising:
 a first receptacle having a first wall, said wall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and at least one aperture therein;   a second receptacle having a second wall, said wall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and at least one aperture therein;   a disc-shaped gliding object;   an illumination means secured to said inner surface of said walls of said first and second receptacles; and,   a first reflective member secured to said inner surface of said walls of said first and second receptacles operatively arranged to reflect light from said illumination means through said at least one aperture.   
     
     
         24 . The disc throwing game assembly recited in  claim 23 , further comprising a flotation member fixedly secured to said first and second receptacle. 
     
     
         25 . The disc throwing game assembly recited in  claim 23 , wherein said illumination means is an LED. 
     
     
         26 . The disc throwing game assembly described in  claim 24 , wherein said flotation member is constructed of laminated polyethylene foam. 
     
     
         27 . The disc throwing game assembly described in  claim 24 , wherein said flotation member is constructed of polyvinyl chloride. 
     
     
         28 . A disc throwing game assembly, comprising:
 a first receptacle having a wall, said wall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and at least one aperture therein;   a second receptacle having a wall, said wall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and at least one aperture therein;   a disc-shaped gliding object;   a first flotation member fixedly secured to said first receptacle; and,   a second flotation member fixedly secured to said second receptacle.   
     
     
         29 . The disc throwing game assembly described in  claim 28 , wherein said first and second flotation member is constructed of laminated polyethylene foam. 
     
     
         30 . The disc throwing game assembly described in  claim 28 , wherein said first and second flotation member is constructed of polyvinyl chloride. 
     
     
         31 . The disc throwing game assembly recited in  claim 28 , further comprising an illumination means secured to said inner surface of said wall of said first and second receptacle. 
     
     
         32 . The disc throwing game assembly recited in  claim 31 , further comprising a first reflective member secured to said inner surface of said wall of said first and second receptacle, operatively arranged to reflect light from said illumination means through said at least one aperture. 
     
     
         33 . The disc throwing game assembly recited in  claim 31 , wherein the inner wall of said first and second receptacle is of a color which substantially absorbs light and at least one portion which is reflective of light. 
     
     
         34 . The disc throwing game assembly recited in  claim 31 , wherein said illumination means is an LED. 
     
     
         35 . The disc throwing game assembly recited in  claim 31 , wherein said illumination means is secured to said inner surface of said wall below said at least one aperture. 
     
     
         36 . The disc throwing game assembly recited in  claim 32 , wherein said first reflective member is disposed proximate to and circumscribing said illumination means. 
     
     
         37 . The disc throwing game assembly recited in  claim 32 , further comprising a second reflective member secured to said inner surface of said wall, operatively arranged to reflect light from said illumination means through said at least one aperture, said second reflective member disposed diametrically opposite said illumination means. 
     
     
         38 . The disc throwing game assembly recited in  claim 28 , wherein said wall forms a cylindrically shaped target. 
     
     
         39 . A target for a disc throwing game, comprising:
 a receptacle having at least one aperture therein; and,   an illumination means secured to said receptacle operatively arranged to transmit light.   
     
     
         40 . The target receptacle of  claim 39 , wherein said receptacle reflects light. 
     
     
         41 . The target receptacle of  claim 39 , wherein said receptacle is translucent. 
     
     
         42 . The target receptacle of  claim 39 , wherein said illumination means is an LED. 
     
     
         43 . The target receptacle of  claim 39 , wherein said illumination means is fiber optic. 
     
     
         44 . A method of playing a disc throwing game where said game is played by only two players, a first player and a second player, comprising the steps of:
 (a) arranging a first receptacle and a second receptacle a distance apart wherein said receptacles face each other and each of said receptacles comprises an aperture and an open top;   (b) positioning said first player behind said first receptacle and said second player behind said second receptacle;   (c) throwing a disc-shaped gliding object at said first receptacle by said second player,   (d) tallying at least one point based on said throw by said second player if said disc-shaped gliding object hits said first receptacle directly;   (e) declaring said second player a winner based on said throw by said second player if said disc-shaped gliding object lands inside said first receptacle;   (f) throwing said disc-shaped gliding object at said second receptacle by said first player;   (g) tallying at least one point based on said throw by said first player if said disc-shaped gliding object hits said second receptacle directly;   (h) declaring said first player a winner based on said throw by said first player if said disc-shaped gliding object lands inside said receptacle; and,   (i) repeating steps (c) through (h) in alternating fashion.
