Stripper device with retrieval mounting portion and method of use
Abstract
Described is a stripper device for a wellhead defining the terminus of an aliphatic hydrocarbon production well. The stripper device includes a lubricator assembly having a lubricator pipe in communication with the wellhead. The stripper device includes a dipper assembly traversing within the lubricator pipe and the well. A controller assembly provides instructions in a computer readable format to regulate the collection of liquid aliphatic hydrocarbons from the well with the dipper assembly. The stripper device includes a recovery assembly having a pivot element coupled to a lubricator pipe and to the wellhead. The pivot element renders the lubricator pipe to communicate with the wellhead in a first position and renders the lubricator pipe apart from the wellhead in a second position to expose the wellhead free of obstructions including those from the lubricator assembly.

21 . A stripper device for a wellhead, the wellhead defining a terminus of an aliphatic hydrocarbon well, the aliphatic hydrocarbon well operating as a well, the stripper device comprising:
a lubricator assembly having a lubricator pipe in communication with the wellhead and a dipper assembly traversing within the lubricator pipe and the well, a controller assembly for one or more of receiving and providing instructions in a computer readable format to regulate collection of liquid aliphatic hydrocarbons from the well with the dipper assembly, a recovery assembly having a pivot element operably coupled with the lubricator pipe and to the wellhead, such that the pivot element allows the lubricator pipe to communicate with the wellhead in a first position and renders the lubricator pipe apart from the wellhead in a second position to expose the wellhead free of obstructions including those from the lubricator assembly.
22 . The stripper device of claim 21 further comprising a retrieval mounting portion operably coupled with the dipper assembly for fixedly receiving a variety of fishing neck assemblies.
23 . The stripper device of claim 21 further comprising an impact compensator at an exterior surface of the dipper assembly.
24 . The stripper device of claim 23 , wherein the impact compensator is operably coupled with a removable striker unit.
25 . The stripper device of claim 23 , wherein the impact compensator maintains a seal established by a removable striker unit to contain the liquid aliphatic hydrocarbons within the dipper assembly while submerged within a liquid column adjacent to a downhole fluid boundary.
26 . The stripper device of claim 21 further comprising a fluid indicator operably coupled with a wireline and the controller assembly.
27 . The stripper device of claim 26 , wherein the fluid indicator facilitates determination of a depth within the well at which the dipper assembly hits fluid.
28 . The stripper device of claim 26 , wherein the fluid indicator includes a quantity indicator obtained by measuring an amount of tension across a wireline associated with the dipper assembly, such that the amount of tension may be communicated as data to the controller assembly.
29 . The stripper device of claim 21 , wherein the controller assembly determines an amount of fluid within the dipper assembly, wherein the dipper assembly is operably coupled with a wireline, wherein the amount of fluid is based on a net weight of contents in the dipper assembly and a predetermined density of the fluid.
30 . The stripper device of claim 21 , wherein a wireline tool modular interface is threadedly coupled to one end of the dipper assembly.
31 . The stripper device of claim 21 , wherein the pivot element includes first and second plates only one of which is unsecured from the wellhead to access the wellhead.
32 . The stripper device of claim 21 , wherein the pivot element includes first and second plates and fasteners secured thereto to secure the pivot element to the wellhead.
33 . The stripper device of claim 21 , wherein the lubricator pipe is operably coupled with a first plate of the pivot element, and wherein the first plate is moved apart from a second plate of the pivot element, such that the second plate remains in communication with the wellhead.
34 . A dipper assembly for a stripper device, the stripper device operably coupled with a wellhead of a production well, the dipper assembly collecting aliphatic hydrocarbons from the well, the dipper assembly comprising:
a dipper body; and a removable striker unit operably coupled with one end of the dipper body, wherein the removable striker unit includes a collection valve, and a striker stem, wherein the striker stem is disposed to operate between a fill position and a draw position, the striker stem for selectively sealing liquid aliphatic hydrocarbons in the dipper body, wherein the dipper assembly is communicably coupled with a control module for positioning the dipper assembly within the production well.
35 . The dipper assembly of claim 34 , wherein the control module is operably coupled with a wireline that is operably coupled with the dipper body.
36 . The dipper assembly of claim 35 , wherein the wireline is operably coupled with the dipper body through a fishing neck assembly that is associated with the dipper body.
37 . The dipper assembly of claim 34 , wherein the control module is further communicably coupled with a plurality of dipper assemblies.
38 . The dipper assembly of claim 34 , wherein the control module is further communicably coupled with a communication network that provides instructions in a computer readable format to the dipper assembly and is further communicatively coupled with a supervisory control data and acquisition controller that includes instructions for controlling the dipper assembly associated with collection of liquid aliphatic hydrocarbons.
39 . The dipper assembly of claim 34 , wherein liquid aliphatic hydrocarbons are selectively retrieved within the dipper body in association with displacement of a guiding wheel and activation of a sensor, the sensor and guiding wheel disposed on a support tray, the support tray operably associated with a wireline that is disposed on one end of the dipper body.
40 . The dipper assembly of claim 34 , wherein the control module is communicably coupled with a depth gauge and a counter for determining travel distance of the dipper body.
41 . The dipper assembly of claim 34 , wherein the control module is communicably coupled with a device for determining an amount of liquid aliphatic hydrocarbons in the dipper body, said device capable of determining the amount of the liquid aliphatic hydrocarbons in the dipper body based on past liquid aliphatic hydrocarbons collections stored in a memory associated with the control module.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
