A decorative eyelet ring for customizing an existing eyelet in an article of clothing is described. The decorative eyelet ring comprises a ring element formed to be positionable around an existing eyelet of an article of clothing. A clasp portion extends from the ring element and comprises a set of support elements that extend distally from the ring element. The set of support elements is formed to be insertable into the existing eyelet. Each support element has a first end and a second end. The first end of each support element is connected with the ring element, and a tab extends perpendicularly from the second end of each support element for securing the decorative eyelet ring to the existing eyelet.

a ring element formed to be positionable around an existing eyelet of an article of clothing; a clasp portion extending from the ring element and comprising a set of support elements that extend distally from the ring element; wherein the set of support elements is formed to be insertable into the existing eyelet; and wherein each support element has a first end and a second end, wherein the first end of each support element is connected with the ring element, and wherein a tab extends from the second end of each support element for securing the decorative eyelet ring, within the existing eyelet.

2 . The decorative eyelet ring as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the first end of each support element is curved to provide a secure fit around the existing eyelet.

3 . The decorative eyelet ring as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the decorative eyelet ring is composed of a malleable, polymer composite.

4 . The decorative eyelet ring as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the ring element is concave.

5 . The decorative eyelet ring as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the tabs extend perpendicularly from the second end of each support element.

6 . A method for forming a decorative eyelet ring, comprising acts of
forming a ring element to be positionable around an existing eyelet of an article of clothing; forming a clasp portion extending from the ring element and comprising a set of support elements that extend distally from the ring element; forming the set of support elements to be insertable into the existing eyelet; and forming each support element to have a first end and a second end, wherein the first end of each support element is connected with the ring element, and wherein a tab extends from the second end of each support element for securing the decorative eyelet ring within the existing eyelet.

7 . The method as set forth in claim 6 , further comprising an act of forming the first end of each support element to be curved to provide a secure fit around the existing eyelet.

8 . The method as set forth in claim 6 , further comprising an act of composing the decorative eyelet ring of a malleable, polymer composite.

9 . The method as set forth in claim 6 , further comprising an act of forming the ring element to be concave.

10 . The method as set forth in claim 6 , further comprising an act of forming the tabs to extend perpendicularly from the second end of each support element.
