Abstract
Embodiments provide various saw chain links which may be combined to form a utility saw chain. In various other embodiments, cutting system fixtures are disclosed which may facilitate the cutting of pipes and other materials from an axis point.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A cutting fixture, comprising:
an attachment element including one or more stabilizing members configured to removably couple to a material to be cut; and a cutting system mount coupled to the attachment element, wherein the cutting system mount is configured to facilitate attachment of a chain saw to the cutting fixture and to provide an axis of rotation for the chain saw.
2 . The cutting fixture of claim 1 , wherein the one or more stabilizing members includes two opposing stabilizing members, wherein the two opposing stabilizing members are configured to selectively engage the material to be cut.
3 . The cutting fixture of claim 2 , wherein the two opposing stabilizing members are configured to selectively clamp onto the material to be cut.
4 . The cutting fixture of claim 1 , wherein the stabilizing members comprise one or more materials adapted to reduce vibration.
5 . The cutting fixture of claim 1 , wherein the stabilizing members are adjustable to secure the fixture to pipes of various diameters.
6 . The cutting fixture of claim 1 , wherein the cutting system mount is configured to facilitate attachment of the chain saw to the cutting fixture.
7 . The cutting fixture of claim 1 , wherein the cutting system mount includes a fulcrum point to provide the axis of rotation.
8 . The cutting fixture of claim 7 , wherein the cutting system mount is configured to permit the chain saw to cross cut the material to be cut in one pass by rotating the chain saw about the fulcrum point.
9 . The cutting fixture of claim 1 , wherein the cutting system mount is configured to be raised or lowered to compensate for differently sized chain saws.
10 . The cutting fixture of claim 1 , wherein the material to be cut is a pipe.
11 . A cutting fixture, comprising:
an attachment element including one or more stabilizing members configured to removably couple to a pipe; and a cutting system mount coupled to the attachment element, the cutting system mount having a fulcrum point, wherein the cutting system mount is configured to facilitate attachment of a chain saw to the fixture and to enable rotation of the chain saw about the fulcrum point.
12 . The cutting fixture of claim 11 , wherein the cutting system mount is configured to permit the chain saw to cross cut the pipe in one pass by rotating the chain saw about the fulcrum point.
13 . A method of cutting a work piece, comprising:
attaching a cutting fixture to the work piece by adjusting stabilizing members of the cutting fixture to clamp to the work piece; attaching a chain saw to the cutting fixture, the cutting fixture having a pivot point for attachment of the cutting element; and initiating cutting of the work piece on one side of the work piece and continuing cutting through to the other side of the work piece by rotating the chain saw about the pivot point.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the work piece is a pipe.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
