Abstract

Methods and systems for displaying multiple-perspective imagery of physical objects are presented. In an example method, a visual presentation of an object is accessed at a mobile device, the presentation having multiple images of the object from varying perspectives relative to the object. Input is received from a user of the mobile device by way of detecting movement imparted on the mobile device by the user. The presentation is presented to the user of the mobile device according to the input. The input determines a presentation speed and order of the images.

accessing, at a mobile device, a visual presentation of a physical object, the visual presentation comprising a plurality of images of the physical object from varying perspectives relative to the physical object; receiving input from a user of the mobile device by way of detecting movement imparted on the mobile device by the user; and presenting the visual presentation to the user of the mobile device according to the input provided by the user of the mobile device, the input determining a presentation order of the plurality of images to be presented to the user, and a presentation speed at which the plurality of images are to be presented to the user.

3 . The method of claim 2 , the input further determining a zoom level of the plurality of images to be presented to the user.

4 . The method of claim 3 , the determined zoom level being applied to each of the plurality of images when presented to the user.

5 . The method of claim 3 , the detecting of the movement imparted on the mobile device comprising detecting a tilting of the mobile device about an axis parallel to a display component of the mobile device, the determining of the zoom level being based on the tilting of the mobile device.

6 . The method of claim 5 , the detecting of the movement imparted on the mobile device comprising detecting a magnitude of the tilting of the mobile device, a speed at which the zoom level changes being based on the magnitude of the tilting of the mobile device.

7 . The method of claim 3 , the detecting of the movement imparted on the mobile device comprising detecting a translating of the mobile device along an axis perpendicular to a display component of the mobile device, the determining of the zoom level being based on the translating of the mobile device.

8 . The method of claim 2 , the detecting of the movement imparted on the mobile device comprising detecting a translating of the mobile device.

9 . The method of claim 8 , the detecting of the movement imparted on the mobile device further comprising detecting a speed of the translating of the mobile device, the speed of the translating being inversely related to a time period during which each of the plurality of images is presented to the user.

10 . The method of claim 2 , the detecting of the movement imparted on the mobile device comprising detecting a tilting of the mobile device.

11 . The method of claim 10 , the detecting of the movement imparted on the mobile device further comprising detecting a magnitude of the tilting of the mobile device, the magnitude of the tilting being inversely related to a time period during which each of the plurality of images is presented to the user.

12 . The method of claim 10 , the detecting of the tilting of the mobile device comprising detecting a tilting of the mobile device about an axis perpendicular to a display component of the mobile device.

13 . The method of claim 10 , the detecting of the tilting of the mobile device comprising detecting a tilting of the mobile device about an axis parallel to a display component of the mobile device.

14 . The method of claim 2 , the varying perspectives relative to the physical object comprising perspectives within a horizontal plane of rotation about the physical object.

15 . The method of claim 14 , the varying perspectives relative to the physical object further comprising perspectives lying outside the horizontal plane of rotation about the physical object.

         16 . A device comprising:
a display component; a motion detection component; at least one memory component to store a visual presentation of a physical object, the visual presentation comprising a plurality of images of the physical object from varying perspectives relative to the physical object; and a display control module, comprising at least one hardware processor, to:
 access the visual presentation in the at least one memory component;
receive user input from a user of the device by way of detecting movement imparted on the mobile device by the user via the motion detection component; and
present the visual presentation to the user of the device via the display component according to the user input, the user input determining a presentation order of the plurality of images to be presented to the user, and a presentation speed at which the plurality of images are to be presented to the user.

17 . The device of claim 16 , the user input further determining a zoom level of the plurality of images to be presented to the user.

18 . The device of claim 16 , the detecting of the movement imparted on the mobile device comprising detecting at least one of a translating of the mobile device or detecting a rotating of the mobile device.

19 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a mobile device, cause the mobile device to perform operations comprising:
accessing a visual presentation of a physical object, the visual presentation comprising a plurality of images of the physical object from varying perspectives relative to the physical object; receiving input from a user of the mobile device by way of detecting movement imparted on the mobile device by the user; and presenting the visual presentation to the user of the mobile device according to the input provided by the user of the mobile device, the input determining a presentation order of the plurality of images to be presented to the user, and a presentation speed at which the plurality of images are to be presented to the user.

20 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 19 , the detecting of the movement imparted on the mobile device comprising detecting a direction of the movement imparted on the mobile device, and the determining of the presentation order being based on the detected direction of the movement imparted on the mobile device.
