Abstract
Systems and methods for viewing media content are provided. A set of media content with at least one feedback application is created. In response to the set creation and activation, media content may be tuned and launched automatically while other programming is restricted. User input associated with feedback applications may be received and media content rewards may be awarded.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 26 . (canceled)
27 . A method for controlling presentation of media on user equipment, the method comprising:
receiving a plurality of media asset listings corresponding to a plurality of media assets, wherein a first of the plurality of media assets is associated with a start time at which transmission of the first media asset to a plurality of users is scheduled to begin; selecting, based on the media asset listings, a subset of the plurality of media assets for insertion into a media asset list; storing, at the user equipment, a first time for generating a display of the media assets in the media asset list including the first media asset; identifying, based on the first time, a second time corresponding to when a display will be generated of the first media asset in the media asset list; determining whether the start time associated with the first media asset is before the second time; and automatically storing at least part of the first media asset in response to determining that the start time associated with the first media asset is before the second time.
28 . The method of claim 27 further comprising receiving a plurality of rating submissions associated with a subset of media assets in the media asset list.
29 . The method of claim 28 further comprising allowing a user to rate a subset of media assets in the media asset list.
30 . The method of claim 27 , wherein the first time is a dynamic function of actions external or internal to the user equipment.
31 . The method of claim 27 , further comprising:
determining if the first media asset comprises any inappropriate content; and warning an authorized user if the first media assets comprises any inappropriate content.
32 . The method of claim 27 , further comprising allowing a remote user to send the user equipment a presence check in the form of chat queries.
33 . The method of claim 27 , further comprising blocking access to the media asset list before the first time.
34 . The method of claim 27 , further comprising allowing an authorized user access to the media asset list by:
verifying the authorized user's control access code; and allowing the authorized user to edit the media asset list.
35 . The method of claim 27 , wherein the first media asset is an interactive feedback application, and wherein the interactive feedback application is timed.
36 . The method of claim 35 , wherein a second media asset, scheduled for display following the first media asset, is chosen based upon the results of the first media asset.
37 . A system for controlling presentation of media on user equipment, the system comprising:
control circuitry configured to:
receive a plurality of media asset listings corresponding to a plurality of media assets, wherein a first of the plurality of media assets is associated with a start time at which transmission of the first media asset to a plurality of users is scheduled to begin;
select, based on the media asset listings, a subset of the plurality of media assets for insertion into a media asset list;
store, at the user equipment, a first time for generating a display of the media assets in the media asset list including the first media asset;
identify, based on the first time, a second time corresponding to when a display will be generated of the first media asset in the media asset list;
determine whether the start time associated with the first media asset is before the second time; and
automatically store at least part of the first media asset in response to determining that the start time associated with the first media asset is before the second time.
38 . The system of claim 37 wherein the control circuitry is further configured to receive a plurality of rating submissions associated with a subset of media assets in the media asset list.
39 . The system of claim 38 wherein the control circuitry is further configured to allow a user to rate a subset of media assets in the media asset list.
40 . The system of claim 37 , wherein the first time is a dynamic function of actions external or internal to the user equipment.
41 . The system of claim 37 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:
determine if the first media asset comprises any inappropriate content; and warn an authorized user if the first media assets comprises any inappropriate content.
42 . The system of claim 37 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to allow a remote user to send the user equipment a presence check in the form of chat queries.
43 . The system of claim 37 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to block access to the media asset list before the first time.
44 . The system of claim 37 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to allow an authorized user access to the media asset list by:
verifying the authorized user's control access code; and allowing the authorized user to edit the media asset list.
45 . The system of claim 37 , wherein the first media asset is an interactive feedback application, and wherein the interactive feedback application is timed.
46 . The system of claim 45 , wherein a second media asset, scheduled for display following the first media asset, is chosen by the control circuitry based upon the results of the first media asset.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
