Method and apparatus for subcarrier and antenna selection in mimo-ofdm system
Abstract
A method and apparatus for radio resources control in a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication system are disclosed. Radio resources are controlled by producing and applying a respective adaptive modulation and coding to each data stream. Applying a respective transmit power level to that data stream and mapping that data stream to a plurality of antennas. Each of the plurality of data streams are transmitted over different subcarriers, has a different adaptive modulation and coding (AM&C) and a different transmit power than others of the plurality of data streams.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:
circuitry configured to produce a plurality of data streams; the circuitry is further configured for each of the plurality of data streams: to apply a respective adaptive modulation and coding to that data stream, apply a respective transmit power level to that data stream and map that data stream to a plurality of antennas; wherein each of the plurality of data streams are transmitted over different subcarriers.
2 . The WTRU of claim 1 wherein each of the plurality of data streams has a different AM&C than others of the plurality of data streams.
3 . The WTRU of claim 1 wherein each of the plurality of data streams has a different transmit power than others of the plurality of data streams.
4 . A method comprising:
producing, by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), a plurality of data streams; for each of the plurality of data streams: applying, by the WTRU, a respective adaptive modulation and coding to that data stream; applying, by the WTRU, a respective transmit power level to that data stream; and mapping, by the WTRU, that data stream to a plurality of antennas; wherein each of the plurality of data streams are transmitted over different subcarriers.
5 . The method of claim 4 wherein each of the plurality of data streams has a different AM&C than others of the plurality of data streams.
6 . The method of claim 4 wherein each of the plurality of data streams has a different transmit power than others of the plurality of data streams.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
