Mattress cover with end pockets

Abstract

A mattress and sheet combination includes a sheet formed to cover the upper surface of the mattress and extend over portions of the sides and ends of the mattress. A plurality of first fastener members is placed in the sides and ends of the mattress with each of the plurality of first fastener members being a selected distance from the upper surface of the mattress. A plurality of second fastener members is placed in the sheet with the plurality of first fastener members and the plurality of second fastener members being arranged in correspondence so that they may be connected together to fasten the sheet and mattress together.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A mattress cover for placement upon a mattress for a bed placed on an adjustable foundation, the mattress cover having a first end pocket formed to enclose a first end of the mattress and a second end pocket formed to enclose a second end of the mattress and to retain the mattress cover upon the mattress as the configuration of the mattress is adjusted. 
     
     
         2 . The mattress cover of  claim 1  wherein the mattress is positioned on a foundation and wherein the first second pockets enclose respective ends of the mattress and end portions of the foundation. 
     
     
         3 . The mattress cover of  claim 2  wherein the mattress cover includes side straps that are connected to underside portions of the foundation to retain the mattress cover in a predetermined position on the mattress as the foundation is adjusted. 
     
     
         4 . The mattress cover of  claim 3  further including means for fastening a fitted sheet to side portions of the mattress cover to retain the fitted sheet in a predetermined position on the mattress cover as the foundation is adjusted.
