Abstract

A method and a system to correlate location and content. For example, data is received from a client device that includes current geographical position data identifying a geographical position of the client device. A vendor having a geographical location within a specified distance of the geographical position of the client device is identified. An offer from the vendor within the distance of the client device is returned to the client device.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method comprising:
receiving, at a server, data transmitted by a client device, the data including current geographical position data identifying the geographical position of the client device; identifying, on the server, a vendor based at least in part on the vendor having a pre-defined geographical relationship with respect to the geographical position of the client device; transmitting, from the server, a notification to the vendor, the notification including information associated with the client device; receiving, on the server, a selection of an offer from the vendor, the selection based at least in part on the information associated with the client device transmitted to the vendor; and transmitting, from the server, the offer to the client device.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the identifying the vendor having a pre-defined geographic relationship with respect to the geographical position of the client device includes identifying the vendor as being within a pre-defined range of a route of the client device.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the identifying the vendor having a pre-defined geographic relationship with respect to the geographical position of the client device includes identifying the geographical position of the client device as being within a geographical zone associated with the vendor.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transmitting the notification includes transmitting the current geographical position data identifying the geographic position of the client device.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein receiving the offer includes receiving directions to locate the vendor based on the current geographical position data identifying the geographic position of the client device.

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, on the server, wanted item data from an automated watching service, wanted item data associated with a user of the client device.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the transmitting the notification includes sending the wanted item data to the vendor.

8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein identifying the vendor includes matching items offered by the vendor to items identified within the wanted item data.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the selection of the offer from the vendor includes receiving the offer from the vendor.

         10 . A method comprising:
receiving, by a vendor over a network connection on a computing device, an alert including information associated with a client device, the vendor identified based at least in part on a current geographical position of the client device being determined to have a pre-defined geographical relationship with response to the vendor; determining, on the computing device, an offer based at least in part on analysis of the information associated with the client device received within the alert; and transmitting, from the computing device over the network connection, the offer to the client device.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein identifying the vendor includes identifying the vendor as being within a pre-defined range of the geographical position of the client device.

12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein identifying the vendor includes identifying the geographical position of the client device as being within a geographical zone associated with the vendor.

13 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
extracting the current geographical position data identifying the geographic position of the client device from the information associated with the client device included in the alert; wherein the determining the offer includes selecting the offer from a plurality of available offers based on the current geographical position data.

14 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:
transmitting directions to locate the vendor based on the current geographical position data identifying the geographic position of the client device.

15 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the receiving the alert includes receiving the alert from a third party service provider in communication with the client device.

16 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising receiving, on the computing device, wanted item data from an automated watching service, wanted item data associated with a user of the client device.

17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the determining the offer includes matching items offered by the vendor to items identified within the wanted item data.

18 . A computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed on a computing system server, cause the server to perform operations comprising:
receive data transmitted by a client device, the data including current geographical position data identifying the geographical position of the client device; identify a vendor based at least in part on the vendor having a pre-defined geographical relationship with respect to the geographical position of the client device; transmit a notification to the vendor, the notification including information associated with the client device; receive a selection of an offer from the vendor, the selection based at least in part on the information associated with the client device transmitted to the vendor; and
transmitting, from the server, the offer to the client device.

19 . A computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed on a computing system server, cause the server to perform operations comprising:
receive, by a vendor over a network connection on the server, an alert including information associated with a client device, the vendor identified based at least in part on a current geographical position of the client device being determined to have a pre-defined geographical relationship with response to the vendor; determine an offer based at least in part on analysis of the information associated with the client device received within the alert; and transmit, over the network connection, the offer to the client device.

         20 . A system comprising:
means for receiving, at a server, data transmitted by a client device, the data including current geographical position data identifying the geographical position of the client device; means for identifying, on the server, a vendor based at least in part on the vendor having a pre-defined geographical relationship with respect to the geographical position of the client device; means for transmitting, from the server, a notification to the vendor, the notification including information associated with the client device; means for receiving, on the server, a selection of an offer from the vendor, the selection based at least in part on the information associated with the client device transmitted to the vendor; and means for transmitting, from the server, the offer to the client device.
