Methods and Apparatuses for Applying Eyelash Extensions

Abstract

An applicator for use with an eyelash extension system that has a backbone and a backbone surface configured to be joined with a closure surface. A plurality of eyelash extensions are attached to the backbone. The applicator includes a frame having a first end and a second end spaced laterally from the first end, a rail attached to the frame and extending laterally between the first and second ends, and a cam. The cam has a cam surface configured to contact the backbone of the eyelash extension system to urge the backbone to come into contact with the closure as the cam is moved laterally along the rail.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An applicator ( 900 ) for use with an eyelash extension system ( 800 ), the eyelash extension system ( 800 ) comprising a fitting ( 801 ) and a backbone ( 804 ) having a backbone surface ( 808 ), a plurality of eyelash extensions ( 802 ) attached to the backbone ( 804 ) and depending therefrom, the applicator comprising:
 a frame ( 940 );   a track ( 944 ) attached to the frame ( 940 ), said track ( 944 ) comprising at least one rail ( 946 ); and   a movable press ( 924 ), the movable press ( 924 ) releasably attached to the track ( 944 ) and capable of moving along the track ( 944 );   wherein the at least one rail ( 946 ) is complementary to or capable of mating with the fitting ( 801 ) of the eyelash extension system ( 800 ).   
     
     
         2 . The applicator ( 900 ) of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one rail ( 946 ) comprises a stop ( 947 ). 
     
     
         3 . The applicator ( 900 ) of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one rail ( 946 ) is tapered. 
     
     
         4 . An applicator ( 1000 ) for use with an eyelash extension system ( 800 ), the eyelash extension system ( 800 ) comprising a fitting ( 801 ) and a backbone ( 804 ) having a backbone surface ( 808 ), a plurality of eyelash extensions ( 802 ) attached to the backbone ( 804 ) and depending therefrom, the applicator comprising:
 a frame ( 1040 ); and   at least two side pieces ( 1046 ) attached to the frame ( 940 ), the side pieces ( 1046 ) comprising a stop ( 1047 );   wherein the stop ( 1047 ) and the side pieces ( 1046 ) are positioned on the frame ( 1040 ) so that the side pieces ( 1046 ) can cooperate with the fitting ( 801 ) of the eyelash extension system ( 800 ), allowing the eyelash extension system ( 800 ) to be suspended between the side pieces ( 1046 ).
