System, method, and product for capturing memories

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a allowing individuals to create and share digital memories, which may include, e.g., picture, video, text, audio, and drawings captured through a mobile device. Those memories may in some embodiments be associated with other individuals located at the same location and time. This disclosure further relates to a mobile application that allows users to create digital memories, share memories with others, and discover memories of which they were a part. The mobile application, systems and interactions are herein referred to generally as “Timeline.” Timeline may be viewed as focused on users in the physical world rather than online world.

         21 . An article of manufacture comprising a non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium having instructions coded thereon that, when executed by a server system, cause the server system to:
 receive data from a mobile device operated by a first user of an information sharing service;   produce a data structure including the data;   determine a group of suggested individuals with whom the first user is likely to choose to share the data, wherein the group is determined based at least in part on whether the mobile device includes contact information for the suggested individuals;   transmit information indicative of the group of suggested individuals to the mobile device;   receive, from the mobile device, an indication of selected individuals with whom to share the data; and   associate the data structure with the selected individuals, the association causing the data to be shared with the selected individuals.   
     
     
         22 . The article of  claim 21 , wherein the suggested individuals are users of the information sharing service. 
     
     
         23 . The article of  claim 21 , wherein the instructions further cause the server system to:
 in response to a request from at least one of the selected individuals, the first user providing an instruction to share the data with other individuals.   
     
     
         24 . The article of  claim 21 , wherein the group is further determined based at least in part on a geographical proximity between the mobile device and the suggested individuals. 
     
     
         25 . A method, comprising:
 a computer system receiving data from a first user of an information sharing service, wherein the data is associated with an experience of the first user;   the computer system determining a list of other individuals, wherein the list of other individuals is determined based on one or more criteria indicating a likelihood that the first user will choose to share the data with the other individuals, and wherein the one or more criteria include whether or not the first user is in possession of contact information for the other individuals;   the computer system presenting the list of other individuals to the first user;   the computer system receiving, from the first user, an indication of at least one other individual included in the list; and   the computer system causing the data to be shared with the at least one other individual.   
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 25 , wherein the data is selected from the group consisting of:
 a photo, a video, a note, and a drawing.   
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 25 , wherein the contact information for the other individuals includes telephone numbers. 
     
     
         28 . The method of  claim 25 , wherein the contact information for the other individuals includes address book entries. 
     
     
         29 . The method of  claim 25 , wherein the one or more criteria include whether or not the other individuals are in possession of contact information for the first user. 
     
     
         30 . The method of  claim 25 , wherein the at least one other individual is not a user of the information sharing service. 
     
     
         31 . The method of  claim 30 , further comprising:
 the computer system sending the at least one other individual an invitation to join the information sharing service.   
     
     
         32 . The method of  claim 25 , further comprising:
 preventing the at least one other individual from sharing the data.   
     
     
         33 . The method of  claim 25 , further comprising:
 the computer system receiving, from the first user, an indication that the at least one other individual would like to share the data with at least one different individual.   
     
     
         34 . The method of  claim 25 , further comprising:
 the computer system receiving a request from the first user to delete the data, wherein the data is permanently removed from the computer system, a mobile device of the first user, and mobile device of the at least one other individual.   
     
     
         35 . A system, comprising:
 at least one processor; and   a memory in communication with the at least one processor, wherein the memory includes instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to carry out operations comprising:
 receiving data from a first user of an information sharing service, wherein the data is associated with an experience of the first user; 
 determining a list of other individuals, wherein the list of other individuals is determined based on one or more criteria indicating a likelihood that the first user will choose to share the data with the other individuals, and wherein the one or more criteria include whether or not the first user is in possession of contact information for the other individuals; and 
 in response to an instruction from the first user, causing the data to be shared with selected ones of the other individuals. 
   
     
     
         36 . The system of  claim 35 , wherein the contact information is stored on a mobile device of the first user. 
     
     
         37 . The system of  claim 35 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 in response to an instruction from the first user, revoking access to the data from at least one of the selected ones of the other individuals.   
     
     
         38 . The system of  claim 35 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 allowing the selected ones of the other individuals to share the data with other users of the information sharing service.   
     
     
         39 . The system of  claim 35 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 in response to a deletion instruction from the first user, causing the data to cease being shared.   
     
     
         40 . The system of  claim 35 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 determining that at least one of the selected ones of the other individuals is not a user of the information sharing service; and   causing an invitation to the information sharing service to be sent to the at least one of the selected ones of the other individuals.
