Claims

Abstract

A textile light-protection material having a micro-filament non-woven fabric with a surface weight of 20 to 300 g/m 2 , wherein the non-woven fabric has composite filaments that are melt-spun and plaited as a non-woven fabric having a titer of 1.5 to 5 decitex and the composite filaments are split into at least 80% of elementary filaments having a titer of 0.05 to 2.0 and are solidified, and wherein the elementary filaments have at least one crystallization auxiliary means selected from titanium dioxide, silicon dioxide, magnesium silicate hydrate, in particular in the form of talcum and/or aluminum silicate, in particular in the form of kaolin, in each case in an amount of 0.2 to 5 wt %.

1 . A textile light-protection material, comprising:
 a microfilament non-woven fabric having a surface weight of 20 to 300 g/m 2 ,   wherein the non-woven fabric comprises composite filaments having a titer of 1.5 to 5 dtex which are melt-spun and plaited into a non-woven fabric,   wherein at least 80% of the composite filaments are split into elementary filaments having a titer of 0.05 to 2.0 dtex and are solidified, and   wherein the elementary filaments comprise a crystallization agent comprising titanium dioxide, silicon dioxide, magnesium silicate hydrate, aluminum silicate, or a mixture thereof, in each case in an amount of 0.2 to 5 wt. %.   
     
     
         2 . The material of  claim 1 , wherein an average particle size of the crystallization agent is between 20 nm and 1 μm. 
     
     
         3 . The material of  claim 1 , wherein the microfilament non-woven fabric has a surface weight of 35 to 200 g/m 2    wherein the microfilament non-woven fabric comprises melt-spun, aerodynamically stretched composite filaments having a titer of 1.5 to 3 dtex which are plaited into a non-woven fabric, and   wherein at least 80% of the composite filaments are split into elementary filaments having a titer of 0.05 to 1.0 dtex and are solidified.   
     
     
         4 . The material of  claim 1 , wherein the composite filaments comprise a multi-component continuous filament, which is a bicomponent continuous filament comprising a first polymer and a second polymer,
 wherein the first polymer and a second polymer are incompatible.   
     
     
         5 . The material of  claim 1 , wherein the composite filaments have a cross section having an orange-like multi-segment structure,
 wherein segments of the multi-segment structure alternately comprise incompatible polymers.   
     
     
         6 . The material of  claim 1 , wherein the elementary filaments are connected in a proportion of 90/10 to 10/90. 
     
     
         7 . The material of  claim 1 , wherein the composite filaments comprise a central opening along the filament axis. 
     
     
         8 . The material of  claim 4 , wherein at least one of the incompatible polymers comprises an additive comprising a color pigment, an antistatic agent, an antimicrobial agent, a hydrophilization agent, a hydrophobization, or a mixture of two or more of any of these, in an amount of 150 ppm to 10 wt. %. 
     
     
         9 . The material of  claim 4 , further comprising:
 a water/dirt repellent finish,   a flame-retardant finish;   a red light reflecting finish;   an infrared light reflecting finish;   a dyed finish;   a printed finish; or   a combination of these.   
     
     
         10 . A method of protecting an article of manufacture from light, the method comprising:
 combining with or including into the article, the material of  claim 1 .   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the article is used in an outdoor application. 
     
     
         12 . A parasol, outdoor curtain, roller-blind, combined wind-protection and sun-protection material, or awning, comprising the material of  claim 1 . 
     
     
         13 . The material of  claim 1 , wherein (a) the titanium dioxide, silicon dioxide, or magnesium silicate hydrate, is present in the form of talc, (b) the aluminum silicate is present in the form of kaolin, or (c) both. 
     
     
         14 . The material of  claim 4 , wherein the first polymer comprises a polyester, and the second polymer comprises a polyamide. 
     
     
         15 . The material of  claim 4 , wherein the first polymer comprises polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene terephthalate, polylactic acid, or a mixture thereof, and wherein the second polymer comprises polyamide 6, polyamide 66, polyamide 46, or a mixture thereof. 
     
     
         16 . The material of  claim 1 , wherein the composite filaments have a cross section having a side-by-side structure comprising incompatible polymers. 
     
     
         17 . The material of  claim 5 , wherein the composite filaments additionally have a cross section having a side-by-side structure comprising incompatible polymers. 
     
     
         18 . The material of  claim 1 , wherein the composite filaments have hollow pie structures. 
     
     
         19 . The material of  claim 1 , wherein the composite filaments further comprise an asymmetrically axially extending cavity. 
     
     
         20 . The material of  claim 8 , wherein the antimicrobial agent is present and comprises copper, silver, gold, or a mixture thereof.
