System and method for controlling device

Abstract

Provided is a system and method for controlling a device using Augmented Reality (AR). A system for controlling a device using Augmented Reality (AR) includes a device server, an AR server, and a portable terminal. The device server registers information about each device. The AR server generates an AR screen displaying type information and service-related information of at least one device searched in response to a request of a portable terminal by using the registered device information, and provides the generated AR screen to the portable terminal. The portable terminal connects with a device selected among devices displayed on the AR screen and performs a specific function with the connected device.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An electronic device comprising:
 a display unit configured to display a screen on which at least one device type is displayed; and   a controller configured to transmit a device search request together with location information of a portable terminal to another electronic device, to display a received AR screen on the display unit upon receiving the screen from the another electronic device in response to the device search request, and to connect with a device of a type selected from the screen.   
     
     
         2 . The electronic device of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one device type displayed on the screen comprises a device located within a predetermined range based on the location information of the portable terminal. 
     
     
         3 . The electronic device of  claim 1 , wherein information related to at least one device corresponding to the respective at least one device type is displayed on the screen. 
     
     
         4 . The electronic device of  claim 3 , wherein the information related to the at least one device comprises at least one of Available Service, Access Right, and Connection Medium. 
     
     
         5 . The electronic device of  claim 1 , wherein a location of the at least one device displayed on the screen corresponds to an actual location of the at least one device. 
     
     
         6 . The electronic device of  claim 1 , wherein the screen comprises an Augmented Reality (AR) screen. 
     
     
         7 . A method for controlling a device by an electronic device, the method comprising:
 transmitting a device search request together with location information of a portable terminal to another electronic device;   displaying a received a screen on which at least one device type is displayed, upon receiving the AR screen from the another electronic device in response to the device search request; and   connecting with a device of a type selected from the AR screen.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the at least one device type displayed on the screen comprises a device located within a predetermined range based on the location information of the portable terminal. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein information related to at least one device corresponding to the respective at least one device type is displayed on the AR screen. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the information related to the at least one device comprises at least one of Available Service, Access Right, and Connection Medium. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein a location of the at least one device displayed on the AR screen corresponds to an actual location of the at least one device. 
     
     
         12 . The electronic device of  claim 7 , wherein the screen comprises an Augmented Reality (AR) screen.
