Claims

Abstract

An imaging element includes: an imaging unit in which a plurality of pixel groups including a plurality of pixels that output pixel signals according to incident light are formed, and on which incident light corresponding to mutually different pieces of image information is incident; a control unit that controls, for each of the pixel groups, a period of accumulating in the plurality of pixels included in the pixel group; and a readout unit that is provided to each of the pixel groups, and reads out the pixel signals from the plurality of pixels included in the pixel group.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An imaging element comprising:
 an imaging unit in which a plurality of pixel groups including a plurality of pixels that output pixel signals according to incident light are formed, and on which incident light corresponding to mutually different pieces of image information is incident;   a control unit that controls, for each of the pixel groups, a period of accumulating in the plurality of pixels included in the pixel group; and   a readout unit that is provided to each of the pixel groups, and reads out the pixel signals from the plurality of pixels included in the pixel group.   
     
     
         2 . The imaging element according to  claim 1 , wherein the readout unit has:
 a plurality of output lines which are each provided to each of the pixel groups and to which the pixel signals from the plurality of pixels included in the pixel group are sequentially output; and   an A/D converting unit that digitizes and output the pixel signals input from the plurality of output lines.   
     
     
         3 . The imaging element according to  claim 2 , wherein each of the plurality of pixels includes:
 a photo diode that transduces electrical charges according to incident light and accumulates electrical charges;   a transfer transistor that transfers the electrical charges in the photo diode;   an amplifying transistor that generates the pixel signals according to the electrical charges transferred by the transfer transistor;   a reset transistor that resets potential of a gate of the amplifying transistor; and   a selecting unit that connects and blocks an output of the amplifying transistor and the output line, and   gates of the transfer transistors of the plurality of pixels included in the pixel group share a connection.   
     
     
         4 . The imaging element according to  claim 3 , wherein the control unit controls the gates of the transfer transistors independently among the plurality of pixel groups. 
     
     
         5 . The imaging element according to  claim 4 , wherein gates of the reset transistors of the plurality of pixels included in the pixel group share a connection. 
     
     
         6 . The imaging element according to  claim 5 , wherein the gates of the reset transistors in the plurality of pixel groups share a connection. 
     
     
         7 . The imaging element according to  claim 6 , wherein a plurality of the A/D converting units are disposed corresponding respectively to the plurality of output lines. 
     
     
         8 . The imaging element according to  claim 6 , wherein
 an imaging chip in which the plurality of pixels are disposed two-dimensionally and a signal processing chip in which the A/D converting unit is disposed are layered, and   each of the plurality of output lines includes an electrical connection between the imaging chip and the signal processing chip.   
     
     
         9 . The imaging element according to  claim 8 , wherein the imaging chip is formed with a backside irradiating type CMOS chip. 
     
     
         10 . The imaging element according to  claim 9 , further comprising color filters that are provided corresponding to the plurality of pixels, and allow passage of particular wavelength ranges, wherein
 the pixel groups are formed for the respective wavelength ranges.   
     
     
         11 . The imaging element according to  claim 10 , further comprising opening masks that are provided corresponding to the plurality of pixels, and allow passage of parts of a luminous flux in an imaging optics according to opening positions, wherein the pixel groups are formed for the respective opening positions. 
     
     
         12 . An imaging element comprising:
 an imaging unit in which a plurality of unit blocks that each have a plurality of pixels are disposed two-dimensionally; and   a control unit that controls a period of accumulating in the plurality of pixels included in the unit block, wherein   each of the plurality of pixels has:   a photo diode that transduces electrical charges according to incident light and accumulates electrical charges;   a transfer transistor that transfers the electrical charges in the photo diode;   an amplifying transistor that generates pixel signals according to the electrical charges transferred by the transfer transistor;   a reset transistor that resets potential of a gate of the amplifying transistor;   a selecting unit that is connected with a selecting line, and connects and blocks an output of the amplifying transistor and an output line; and   a control transistor that is disposed between a gate of the transfer transistor and the selecting line, and   when the selecting line is selected, and a gate of the control transistor is turned on, pixel signals of the photo diode are output.   
     
     
         13 . An imaging device that uses the imaging element according to  claim 1 . 
     
     
         14 . An imaging device that uses the imaging element according to  claim 12 .
