Abstract
An stretch resistant plantar fascia support system is provided. The stretch resistant plantar fascia support system is adhesively applied to the foot of a patient for providing relief from plantar fasciitis. A portion of the stretch resistant plantar fascia support system is adhesively attached to the bottom surface of the foot for reducing stress on the plantar fascia.

1 . A method of providing anatomical support for human fascia, the method comprising:
providing a precut adhesive support material, wherein the precut adhesive support material includes:
a sheet releasably retaining a plurality of precut support straps on the sheet, wherein each support strap comprises a woven fabric having an adhesive layer on an underside surface, wherein said underside surface is adapted to be secured to an outer skin surface of a user, further wherein each support strap has a thickness of less than 0.381 mm, and wherein at least one of the support straps has a tensile strength of at least 10 lb/in-width in a longitudinal or a transverse direction; and
instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a single foot.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising packaging the sheet of precut adhesive support material in an enclosure.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising precutting the support straps by die-cutting or laser cutting.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising packing the sheet of precut adhesive support material in a roll wherein one or more of the plurality of support straps are separated by perforations in the sheet of precut adhesive support material.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising packaging a plurality of sheets of precut adhesive support material in a stack of sheets.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to remove the support straps from the sheet and apply at least two of the support straps to the foot.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to apply the support straps from the sheet to the foot so that at least two of the support straps cross on the user's foot.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to apply the support straps from the sheet to the foot so that at least two of the support straps overlap in a region along the bottom of the user's foot from the heel to the ball of the foot.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to apply the support straps from the sheet to the foot so that a first adhesive support extends from a ball of the foot, across a sole and to a heel of the foot; and further instructing the user to adhesively apply a second support to the sole of the foot, so that the second adhesive support extends across an arch or heel of the foot and at least partially crosses the first adhesive support strap.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to trim at least one precut support strap to better fit the user's foot.
11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to apply a support strap to the outer skin surface of the of the foot beginning from about the ball region of the sole along the surface of the sole across the arch and continuing to the heel and extending up the back of the heel.
12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein providing the precut adhesive support material comprises providing the sheet releasably retaining the plurality of precut support straps on the sheet, wherein each support strap comprises a woven microfiber fabric with a tensile strength of at least 20 lb/in-width.
13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein providing the precut adhesive support material comprises providing the sheet releasably retaining the plurality of precut support straps on the sheet, wherein at least one support strap is of sufficient length to extend from a ball of a foot to a heel of a foot of the user.
14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to apply the support straps from the sheet to the foot so that at least one of the support strap restricts extension of an outer skin surface of the user's foot and provides support to an arch of the foot.
15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein providing the precut adhesive support material comprises providing the sheet releasably retaining the plurality of precut support straps on the sheet, wherein at least one support strap comprises a woven fabric that exhibits less than 15 percent elongation in at least one direction when subjected to a 25 lb. tensile load.
16 . A method of providing anatomical support for human fascia, the method comprising:
providing a precut adhesive support material, wherein the precut adhesive support material includes:
a sheet releasably retaining a plurality of precut support straps on the sheet, wherein each support strap comprises a woven fabric having an adhesive layer on an underside surface, wherein said underside surface is adapted to be secured to an outer skin surface of a user and conform a curvature thereof, further wherein each support strap has a thickness of less than 0.381 mm, and wherein at least one of the support straps has a tensile strength of at least 10 lb/in-width in a longitudinal or a transverse direction; and
instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot to a region along the bottom of the user's foot from a ball to a heel of the foot.
17 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising packaging the sheet of precut adhesive support material in an enclosure.
18 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising precutting the support straps by die-cutting or laser cutting.
19 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising packing the sheet of precut adhesive support material in a roll wherein one or more of the plurality of support straps are separated by perforations in the sheet of precut adhesive support material.
20 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising packaging a plurality of sheets of precut adhesive support material in a stack of sheets.
21 . The method of claim 16 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to remove the support straps from the sheet and apply at least two of the support straps to the foot.

The method of claim 16 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to apply the support straps from the sheet to the foot so that at least two of the support straps overlap in a region along the bottom of the user's foot from the heel to the ball of the foot.

The method of claim 16 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to apply the support straps from the sheet to the foot so that a first adhesive support extends from a ball of the foot, across a sole and to a heel of the foot; and further instructing the user to adhesively apply a second support to the sole of the foot, so that the second adhesive support extends across an arch or heel of the foot and at least partially crosses the first adhesive support strap.
24 . The method of claim 16 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to trim at least one precut support strap to better fit the user's foot.
25 . The method of claim 16 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to apply a support strap to the outer skin surface of the of the foot beginning from about the ball region of the sole along the surface of the sole across the arch and continuing to the heel and extending up the back of the heel.

The method of claim 16 , wherein providing the precut adhesive support material comprises providing the sheet releasably retaining the plurality of precut support straps on the sheet, wherein each support strap comprises a woven microfiber fabric with a tensile strength of at least 20 lb/in-width.

The method of claim 16 , wherein providing the precut adhesive support material comprises providing the sheet releasably retaining the plurality of precut support straps on the sheet, wherein at least one support strap is of sufficient length to extend from a ball of a foot to a heel of a foot of the user.

The method of claim 16 , wherein instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot comprises instructing the user to apply the support straps from the sheet to the foot so that at least one of the support strap restricts extension of an outer skin surface of the user's foot and provides support to an arch of the foot.

The method of claim 16 , wherein providing the precut adhesive support material comprises providing the sheet releasably retaining the plurality of precut support straps on the sheet, wherein at least one support strap comprises a woven fabric that exhibits less than 15 percent elongation in at least one direction when subjected to a 25 lb. tensile load.
30 . A method of providing anatomical support for human fascia, the method comprising:
providing a precut adhesive support material, wherein the precut adhesive support material includes:
a sheet releasably retaining a plurality of precut support straps on the sheet, wherein each support strap comprises a microfiber fabric having an adhesive layer on an underside surface, wherein said underside surface is adapted to be secured to an outer skin surface of a user, further wherein each support strap has a thickness of less than 0.381 mm, and wherein at least one of the support straps has a tensile strength of at least 10 lb/in-width in a longitudinal or a transverse direction; and
instructing the user to adhesively apply at least two of the support straps to a foot and apply the support straps to the foot so that at least two of the support straps cross on the user's foot.
31 . A method of providing anatomical support for human fascia, the method comprising:
providing an enclosed package containing a precut adhesive support material, wherein the precut adhesive support material includes:
a sheet releasably retaining at least one precut support on the sheet, wherein each support comprises a fabric having an adhesive layer on an underside surface, wherein said underside surface is adapted to be secured to an outer skin surface of a user, further wherein each support strap has a thickness of less than 0.381 mm, and wherein at least one of the support straps has a tensile strength of at least 10 lb/in-width in a longitudinal or a transverse direction; and
instructing the user to adhesively apply the at least one precut support across an arch of a foot from a side of a foot and across a longitudinal axis of the foot.
