Abstract

According to one embodiment, a secondary battery electrode includes a current collector, and a layer. The layer is provided on the current collector. The layer includes a plurality of active material bodies and a fiber provided between adjacent active material bodies out of the active material bodies, and connects the adjacent active material bodies to each other.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A secondary battery electrode comprising:
 a current collector; and   a layer provided on the current collector, the layer including a plurality of active material bodies and a fiber provided between adjacent active material bodies out of the active material bodies and connecting the adjacent active material bodies to each other.   
     
     
         2 . The electrode according to  claim 1 , wherein at least a part of a surface of one of the adjacent active material bodies is covered with an end of the fiber connected to the one of the adjacent active material bodies. 
     
     
         3 . The electrode according to  claim 1 , wherein the fiber includes an insulating material and a conductive body. 
     
     
         4 . The electrode according to  claim 2 , wherein the fiber includes an insulating material and a conductive body. 
     
     
         5 . The electrode according to  claim 1 , wherein the layer further includes a conductive body. 
     
     
         6 . The electrode according to  claim 2 , wherein the layer further includes a conductive body. 
     
     
         7 . The electrode according to  claim 1 , wherein a line width of the fiber is 1 micrometer or less. 
     
     
         8 . The electrode according to  claim 2 , wherein a line width of the fiber is 1 micrometer or less. 
     
     
         9 . The electrode according to  claim 3 , wherein a line width of the fiber is 1 micrometer or less. 
     
     
         10 . The electrode according to  claim 5 , wherein a line width of the fiber is 1 micrometer or less. 
     
     
         11 . A lithium-ion secondary battery comprising:
 a first current collector;   a first layer provided on the first current collector, the first layer including a plurality of first active material bodies and a first fiber provided between adjacent first active material bodies out of the first active material bodies and connecting the adjacent first active material bodies to each other;   a second current collector; and   a second layer provided on the second current collector, the second layer including a plurality of second active material bodies and a second fiber provided between adjacent second active material bodies out of the second active material bodies and connecting the adjacent second active material bodies to each other.   
     
     
         12 . The battery according to  claim 11 , wherein
 at least a part of a surface of one of the adjacent first active material bodies is covered with a first end of the first fiber connected to the one of the adjacent first active material bodies and   at least a part of a surface of one of the adjacent second active material bodies is covered with a second end of the second fiber connected to the one of the adjacent second active material bodies.   
     
     
         13 . The battery according to  claim 11 , wherein at least one of the first fiber and the second fiber includes an insulating material and a conductive body. 
     
     
         14 . The battery according to  claim 12 , wherein at least one of the first fiber and the second fiber includes an insulating material and a conductive body. 
     
     
         15 . The battery according to  claim 11 , wherein at least one of the first layer and the second layer further includes a conductive body. 
     
     
         16 . The battery according to  claim 12 , wherein at least one of the first layer and the second layer further includes a conductive body. 
     
     
         17 . The battery according to  claim 11 , wherein a line width of each of the first fiber and the second fiber is 1 micrometer or less. 
     
     
         18 . The battery according to  claim 12 , wherein a line width of each of the first fiber and the second fiber is 1 micrometer or less. 
     
     
         19 . The battery according to  claim 13 , wherein a line width of each of the first fiber and the second fiber is 1 micrometer or less. 
     
     
         20 . The battery according to  claim 15 , wherein a line width of each of the first fiber and the second fiber is 1 micrometer or less.
