Abstract

The present invention provides an assembly for assisting in the construction of a pier. The assembly includes a base, an extension pole, and a collar. The base is adapted to rest on the lake floor. The extension pole is connected to the base and is of a sufficient length to extend above the water surface. The collar is mounted to the extension pole and supports a portion of the pier while an additional pier section is secured to support beams. The assembly is capable of being maneuvered without assistance, because the assembly provides structural support during construction of a pier, without requiring a user to actively support parts of the pier while in the water.

Claims

I claim:

1 ) A pier construction assistance assembly comprising:
a flat base, wherein said base has a clevis fastener attached thereto; an elongated pole, wherein said pole pivots about said clevis fastener; a collar encircling said elongated pole, wherein said collar translates along said elongated pole; and wherein each of said elongated pole and collar are positionally lockable via a fastener.

2 ) The pier construction assistance assembly of claim 1 , wherein said collar comprises a ledge adapted for supporting a section of a pier.

3 ) The pier construction assistance assembly of claim 1 , wherein said collar comprises a bolt adapted to secure said collar at a height level.

4 ) The pier construction assistance assembly of claim 3 , wherein:
said elongated pole comprises a plurality of apertures; said bolt secures said collar onto said pole by insertion into said pole apertures.

5 ) The pier construction assistance assembly of claim 1 , wherein:
said clevis fastener comprises a pin adapted for insertion through an aperture of said elongated pole; said elongate pole pivots about said pin of said clevis fastener.

6 ) The pier construction assistance assembly of claim 4 , wherein said clevis fastener comprises an aperture adapted for the reception of a bolt configured for securing said elongate pole in place.
