Abstract
A system and method in a system for responding to user-selection of an object in video based on geographical location, substantially as shown in and/or described in connection with at least one of the figures, as set forth more completely in the claims.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method, in a system, for responding to user selection of an object in video, the method comprising:
determining an identity of a user-selected object appearing in a video stream being presented; determining a geographical location; determining, based at least in part on the determined object identity and on the determined geographical location, one or more actions to perform with regard to the user-selected object; and performing the determined one or more actions.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining a geographical location comprises determining a geographical location of the user.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determined one or more actions to perform comprise acquiring information associated with the user-selected object and associated with the determined geographical location.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein said acquiring information comprises determining, based at least in part on the determined object identity and the determined geographical location, a memory address associated with the information, and retrieving the information from the determined memory address.
5 . The method of claim 3 , wherein said acquiring information comprises determining, based at least in part on the determined object identity and the determined geographical location, a network address of a networked entity, and interacting with the networked entity at the determined network address to acquire the information.
6 . The method of claim 3 , wherein said acquiring information comprises determining, based at least in part on the determined object identity and the determined geographical location, one or more search terms, and performing a search for the information utilizing the determined one or more search terms.
7 . The method of claim 1 , comprising providing a user interface by which a user-specified geographical location may be received, and wherein said determining a geographical location comprises determining the geographical location based at least in part on a user-specified geographical location.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more actions to perform comprise notifying a networked entity of the user's selection of the user-selected object.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more actions to perform comprise establishing a two-way communication session with a networked entity, and identifying the networked entity based at least in part on the determined object identity and the determined geographical location.
10 . The method of claim 1 , comprising:
receiving data associating a user-selectable object in the video with one or more actions to perform upon user-selection of the user-selectable object, said received data being based at least in part on the determined geographical location; and storing the received data in memory of the user's local system.
11 . A system for responding to user selection of an object in video, the system comprising:
at least one module operable to, at least:
determine an identity of a user-selected object in video being presented;
determine a geographical location;
determine, based at least in part on the determined object identity and on the determined geographical location, one or more actions to perform with regard to the user-selected object; and
perform the determined one or more actions.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the at least one module is operable to determine a geographical location by, at least in part, operating to determine a geographical location of the user's local system.
13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the at least one module is operable to determine a geographical location by, at least in part, operating to determine a geographical location of a user.
14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more actions to perform comprise acquiring information associated with the user-selected object and associated with the determined geographical location.
15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein said acquiring information comprises determining, based at least in part on the determined object identity and the determined geographical location, a memory address associated with the information and retrieving the information from the determined memory address.
16 . The system of claim 14 , wherein said acquiring information comprises determining, based at least in part on the determined object identity and the determined geographical location, a network address of a networked entity and interacting with the networked entity at the determined network address to acquire the information.
17 . The system of claim 14 , wherein said acquiring information comprises determining, based at least in part on the determined object identity and the determined geographical location, one or more search terms, and performing a search for the information utilizing the determined one or more search terms.
18 . The system of claim 11 , wherein said at least one module is operable to provide a user interface by which the user may input a user-specified geographical location, and wherein the at least one module is operable to determine a geographical location by, at least in part, operating to determine the geographical location based at least in part on a user-specified geographical location.
19 . A system for responding to user selection of an object within video, the system comprising:
at least one module operable to, at least:
determine an identity of a user-selected object appearing in a video stream being presented;
determine a geographical location;
receive data associating a user-selectable object in the video and a geographical location with one or more actions to perform upon user-selection of the user-selectable object; and
store the received data in memory; and
perform the determined one or more actions.
20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein said at least one module is operable to store the received data in memory by, at least in part, operating to store the received data in memory indexed by object identification and geographical location.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
