Abstract

A preparation useful for, and a method for the prophylactic treatment of women post-childbirth in order to avoid immunization and antibody production, which could induce NAIT and fetal/neonatal bleeding in subsequent pregnancies comprising administering a preparation containing antibodies to HPA1a within 72 hours after delivery in the first non-compatible pregnancy.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 17 . (canceled)

18 . A preparation useful in inhibiting an immune response to human platelet antigen HPA 1a, the preparation comprising an Immunoglobulin G (IgG) concentrate containing antibodies specific to human platelet antigen HPA 1a.

19 . The preparation as claimed in claim 18 , wherein the IgG concentrate is derived from human plasma.

20 . The preparation as claimed in claim 18 , wherein the preparation comprises 100-400 μg anti-HPA 1a antibodies.

21 . The preparation as claimed in claim 20 , wherein the preparation comprises 200-300 μg anti-HPA 1a antibodies.

         22 . The preparation as claimed in claim 18 , wherein the preparation comprises 50-200 μg/ml anti-HPA 1a antibodies.

         23 . The preparation as claimed in claim 18 , wherein the preparation comprises 66-266 μg/ml anti-HPA 1a antibodies.

         24 . The preparation as claimed in claim 23 , wherein the preparation comprises 100-150 μg/ml anti-HPA 1a antibodies.

         25 . The preparation as claimed in claim 23 , wherein the preparation comprises 133-200 μg/ml anti-HPA 1a antibodies.

         26 . The preparation as claimed in claim 18 , wherein the preparation comprises 200-800 μg/ml anti-HPA 1a antibodies.

         27 . The preparation as claimed in claim 26 , wherein the preparation comprises 400-600 μg/ml anti-HPA 1a antibodies.

28 . A method for the production of a preparation useful in the prophylactic treatment of NAIT, the method comprising the steps of:
 a. Identifying blood plasma donors having HPA 1a antibodies, b. Collecting plasma from the donors, and c. Fractionating IgG from the plasma wherein the fractionated IgG is aliquoted into dosages comprising: (i) 100-400 μg anti-HPA 1a antibodies, or (ii) 50-200 μg/ml anti-HPA 1a antibodies, or (iii) 200-800 μg/ml anti-HPA 1a antibodies.
