Abstract
A mobile device case defining an aperture and a camera protection module within the aperture. The camera protection module may be a separate element from the case shell or may be formed as an integral part of shell.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A mobile device protection system, comprising:
a mobile device case sized to retain a mobile electronic device, the mobile device case defining a first aperture sized to surround a lens of a mobile device camera and a second aperture spaced from the first aperture and sized to surround a flash of the mobile device camera; and a septum disposed between the first aperture and the second aperture.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device case includes a first portion removeably coupled to a second portion.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device case includes a first alignment element, and wherein the camera protection module includes a second alignment element matable with the first alignment element.
4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device case is at least partially composed of resilient material.
5 . The system of claim 1 , further including a first substantially transparent membrane affixed to the mobile device case and covering the first aperture and a second substantially transparent membrane affixed to the mobile device case and covering the second aperture.
6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion the mobile device case that defines the first aperture and the second aperture is composed of resilient material.
7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the camera protection module defines a first tapered width portion surrounding the first aperture and a second tapered width portion surrounding the second aperture, the first tapered width portion and the second tapered width portion extending upward and outward from the camera protection module.
8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first aperture and the second aperture are asymmetric with respect to each other.
9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first aperture and the second aperture are each substantially circular.
10 . A method of manufacturing a mobile device protection system, the method comprising:
molding at least a portion of a mobile device case sized to retain a mobile electronic device, the molded portion of the mobile device case having:
a first aperture sized to surround a lens of a mobile device camera;
a second aperture spaced from the first aperture and sized to surround a flash of the mobile device camera; and
a septum disposed between the first aperture and the second aperture.
11 . A mobile device protection system, comprising:
a housing sized to receive a mobile electronic device, the housing including a first portion matable to a second portion to releasably retain the mobile electronic device within the housing;
the first portion having:
a first aperture sized to surround a lens of a mobile device camera; and
a second aperture spaced from the first aperture and sized to surround a flash of the mobile device camera; and
an at least substantially linear septum disposed between the first aperture and the second aperture, the septum configured to shield the light emitted from the flash from interfering with light received by the lens of the mobile device case camera.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the first portion includes a base, and wherein the base defines the first aperture and the second aperture.
13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the first portion is at least partially composed of resilient material.
14 . The system of claim 11 , further including:
a first substantially transparent membrane affixed to the first portion and covering the first aperture; and a second substantially transparent membrane affixed to the first portion and covering the second aperture.
15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein at least a portion the first portion that defines the first aperture and the second aperture is composed of resilient material.
16 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the first portion defines:
a first tapered width portion surrounding the first aperture; and a second tapered width portion surrounding the second aperture, the first tapered width portion and the second tapered width portion extending upward and outward from the first portion.
17 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the first aperture and the second aperture are asymmetric with respect to each other.
18 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the first aperture and the second aperture are each substantially circular.
19 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the base includes a cushion extending a distance into the first portion.
20 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the base includes the septum.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
