Communication system with digital wallet having blank user card and related methods
Abstract
A mobile wireless communications device may communicate with a terminal including a first NFC device, the terminal being capable of receiving data from a provisioning server. The mobile wireless communications device may include a housing, a wireless transceiver carried by the housing, a second NFC device carried by the housing, a memory carried by the housing, a display carried by the housing, and a processor carried by the housing and coupled to the wireless transceiver, the second NFC device, the memory, and the display. The processor may be configured to implement a digital wallet including user cards, receive from the terminal, via the second NEC device, a blank user card including user data fields, and fill the user data fields of the blank user card to define a completed user card and send the completed user card to the provisioning server.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThat which is claimed is:
1 . A communication system comprising:
a terminal comprising a first near field communications (NFC) device; and a provisioning server configured to send data to said terminal, wherein said provisioning server is further configured to receive a completed user card from a mobile wireless communications device, wherein the mobile wireless communications device is configured to implement a digital wallet comprising a plurality of user cards, receive, from the terminal, a blank user card including a plurality of user data fields via a second NFC device, and fill the plurality of user data fields of the blank user card to define the completed user card.
2 . The communication system of claim 1 wherein the mobile wireless communications device is configured to receive a confirmation message from said provisioning server, and to store the completed user card the digital wallet after receipt of the confirmation message.
3 . The communication system of claim 1 wherein the mobile wireless communications device is configured to store default user data for the digital wallet, and to fill the plurality of user data fields based upon the stored default user data.
4 . The communication system of claim 1 wherein the mobile wireless communications device is configured to display the completed user card on a display.
5 . The communication system of claim 1 wherein the mobile wireless communications device is configured to send the completed user card to said provisioning server via a wireless transceiver.
6 . The communication system of claim 1 wherein the mobile wireless communications device is configured to send the completed user card to the provisioning server via the second NFC device.
7 . The communication system of claim 1 wherein said terminal comprises a point-of-sale (POS) terminal.
8 . The communication system of claim 1 wherein the blank user card has a return address for said provisioning server associated therewith.
9 . The communication system of claim 1 wherein the plurality of user data fields comprises a name field, a mailing address field, and an email address field.
10 . A mobile wireless communications device communicating with a terminal comprising a first near field communications (NFC) device, the terminal being capable of receiving data from a provisioning server, the mobile wireless communications device comprising:
a housing; a wireless transceiver carried by said housing; a second NFC device carried by said housing; a memory carried by said housing; a display carried by said housing; and a processor carried by said housing and coupled to said wireless transceiver, said second NFC device, said memory, and said display, said processor configured to
implement a digital wallet comprising a plurality of user cards,
receive from said terminal, via said second NFC device, a blank user card including a plurality of user data fields, and
fill the plurality of user data fields of the blank user card to define a completed user card and send the completed user card to the provisioning server.
11 . The mobile wireless communications device of claim 10 wherein said processor is configured to receive a confirmation message from the provisioning server, and to store the completed user card in said memory for the digital wallet after receipt of the confirmation message.
12 . The mobile wireless communications device of claim 10 wherein said processor is configured to store in said memory default user data for the digital wallet, and to fill the plurality of user data fields based upon the stored default user data.
13 . The mobile wireless communications device of claim 10 wherein said processor is configured to display the completed user card on said display.
14 . The mobile wireless communications device of claim 10 wherein said processor is configured to send the completed user card to the provisioning server via said wireless transceiver.
15 . The mobile wireless communications device of claim 10 wherein said processor is configured to send the completed user card to the provisioning server via said second NFC device.
16 . A method of operating a mobile wireless communications device communicating with a terminal comprising a first near field communications (NFC) device, the terminal being capable of receiving data from a provisioning server, the method comprising:
using a processor and memory cooperating therewith in the mobile wireless communications device to
implement a digital wallet comprising a plurality of user cards,
receive from the terminal, via a second NFC device in the mobile wireless communications device, a blank user card including a plurality of user data fields, and
fill the plurality of user data fields of the blank user card to define a completed user card and send the completed user card to the provisioning server.
17 . The method of claim 16 further comprising using the processor to receive a confirmation message from the provisioning server, and to store the completed user card in the memory for the digital wallet after receipt of the confirmation message.
18 . The method of claim 16 further comprising using the processor to store in the memory default user data for the digital wallet, and to fill the plurality of user data fields based upon the stored default user data.
19 . The method of claim 16 further comprising using the processor to display the completed user card on a display.
20 . The method of claim 16 further comprising using the processor to send the completed user card to the provisioning server via a wireless transceiver.
21 . The method of claim 16 further comprising using the processor to send the completed user card to the provisioning server via the second NFC device.
22 . The method of claim 16 wherein the blank user card has a return address for the provisioning server associated therewith.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
