Abstract
A post bracket includes a mounting portion, a first flange portion, and a first post support portion. The mounting portion includes a first edge and a second edge opposite the first edge. The first flange portion is disposed at the first edge of the mounting portion and is configured to extend along a side surface of a block. The first post support portion is disposed at the second edge of the mounting portion and is configured to be fastened to a post.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A post bracket, comprising:
a mounting portion including a first edge and a second edge opposite the first edge; a first flange portion disposed at the first edge of the mounting portion; and a first post support portion disposed at the second edge of the mounting portion, the first post support portion configured to be fastened to a post, wherein the first flange portion is configured to extend along a side surface of a block.
2 . The post bracket of claim 1 , wherein the mounting portion includes a mating surface extending between the first edge and the second edge substantially along a first plane and wherein the first flange portion is configured to extend along the side surface of a block along a second plane different from the first plane.
3 . The post bracket of claim 1 , wherein a ratio distance between the first edge and the second edge of the mounting portion is in a range of about 1 foot to about 3 feet.
4 . The post bracket of claim 1 , wherein a distance between the first edge and the second edge of the mounting portion is adjustable.
5 . The post bracket of claim 1 , wherein each of the first flange portion and the first post support portion are configured to extend along a side surface of the same block.
6 . The post bracket of claim 1 , further comprising a second flange portion disposed at the second edge of the mounting portion.
7 . The post bracket of claim 6 , wherein each of the second flange portion and the first flange portion are configured to extend along a side surface of the same block.
8 . The post bracket of claim 1 , further comprising a second post support portion disposed at the first edge of the mounting portion.
9 . The post bracket of claim 1 , wherein the mounting portion includes a first mounting component having an aperture configured to receive a fastener for fastening the post bracket to a block.
10 . The post bracket of claim 9 , wherein the first flange portion includes no apertures configured to receive a fastener for fastening the post bracket to a block.
11 . The post bracket of claim 1 , wherein the first post support portion comprises a sleeve defining a post-receiving space configured to receive a post.
12 . A post support structure, comprising:
a block; a post bracket including:
a mounting portion having a first edge and a second edge opposite the first edge,
a first flange portion disposed at the first edge and configured to extend along a side surface of at least one of the block and another block, and
a first post support portion disposed at the second edge, the first post support portion being configured to be fastened to a post; and
a fastener fastening the mounting portion to the block.
13 . The post support structure of claim 12 , wherein the block is a concrete retaining wall block.
14 . The post support structure of claim 12 , wherein each of the first flange portion and the first post portion extend along a side surface of the same block.
15 . The post support structure of claim 12 , wherein the block includes:
a first end surface; and a first recess extending into the block from the first end surface, the first recess being configured to receive at least a portion of the post bracket.
16 . The post support structure of claim 15 , wherein the block further includes:
a second end surface opposite the first end surface; and a second recess extending into the block from the second end surface, the second recess being configured to receive at least a portion of another post support structure.
17 . The post support structure of claim 16 , wherein the block further includes:
an upper side surface extending between the first end surface and the second end surface; and a third recess extending into the block from the upper side surface, the third recess being configured to retain growing media.
18 . The post support structure of claim 17 , wherein the block further includes at least one drainage outlet extending through the block from the third recess.
19 . The post support structure of claim 17 , wherein the block has a weight in a range of about 600 pounds to about 9000 pounds.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
