Abstract
The present invention relates to an insulating knit bottle cozy jacket which provides a tight fit, insulation, a coaster bottom as well as the ability to have decorative cover.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A bottle knitted jacket comprising:
a) a top welt area inside area comprising:
i. a polyamide fiber; and
ii. an elastomeric covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320;
wherein the top welt inside area can extend to the inside neck of the jacket;
b) a top welt area outside area comprising:
i. a non-elastomeric fiber;
ii. an elastomer covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 5 to about 60; and
iii. an elastomeric covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 about 320;
c) bottom welt area inside area;
i. an elastomer covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320;
wherein the bottom welt inside area can extend to the inside body of the jacket;
d) a bottom welt area outside area comprising:
i. a non-elastomeric fiber;
ii. an elastomer covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 60 to about 220; and
iii. an elastomeric covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320;
e) a neck area comprising
i. a non-elastomeric fiber;
ii. an elastomer covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 5 to about 60; and
iii. an elastomeric covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320; and
f) a body area comprising;
i. a non-elastomeric fiber;
ii. an elastomer covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320; and
iii. an elastomeric covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320.
2 . A bottle jacket according to claim 1 wherein the elastomer is spandex.
3 . A bottle jacket according to claim 1 wherein the polyamide fiber is a nylon fiber.
4 . A bottle jacket according to claim 1 wherein the acrylic fiber is a high bulk acrylic.
5 . A bottle jacket according to claim 1 wherein the elastomeric covered polyamide fibers in the top welt area outside area, neck area and bottom welt area inside area are about 20 denier.
6 . A bottle jacket according to claim 1 wherein the elastomeric covered polyamide fibers in the bottom welt area outside area and body area are about 120 denier.
7 . A bottle jacket according to claim 1 wherein the elastomeric covered polyamide fiber has a denier of about 260.
8 . A bottle jacket according to claim 1 which further comprises an advertisement or artistic design knit into the fabric at least along the neck or body area.
9 . A bottle jacket according to claim 1 wherein the neck area is tapered to fit a tapered beck bottle.
10 . A bottle jacket according to claim 1 wherein the neck area is tapered to fit a tapered beck bottle but can fit non-tapered bottles.
11 . A bottle jacket according to claim 1 wherein the bottom welt can be positioned on the bottle to form a coaster.
12 . A container knitted jacket comprising:
a) a top welt area having an inside area and an outside area; b) a bottom welt area having an inside area and an outside area; c) a neck area and d) a body area.
13 . A container knitted jacket according to claim 12 wherein the inside area of said top welt area is comprised of a polyamide fiber and an elastomeric covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320, wherein the inside area of the top welt area can extend to the inside of the neck area of the jacket.
14 . A container knitted jacket according to claim 12 wherein the outside area of said top welt area is comprised of a non-elastomeric fiber, an elastomer covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 5 to about 60, and an elastomeric covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320.

A container knitted jacket according to claim 12 wherein the inside area of said bottom welt area is comprised of an elastomer covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320, wherein the inside area of the bottom welt area can extend to the inside of the body area of the jacket.
16 . A container knitted jacket according to claim 12 wherein the outside area of said bottom welt area is comprised of a non-elastomeric fiber, an elastomer covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 60 to about 220, and an elastomeric covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320.
17 . A container knitted jacket according to claim 12 wherein said neck area is comprised of a non-elastomeric fiber, an elastomer covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 5 to about 60, and an elastomeric covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320.
18 . A container knitted jacket according to claim 12 wherein said body area is comprised of a non-elastomeric fiber, an elastomer covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320, and an elastomeric covered polyamide fiber having a denier from about 160 to about 320.
19 . A container knitted jacket according to claim 12 wherein the container knitted jacket comprises a fiber selected from a group consisting of lycra, spandex, nylon, a high bulk acrylic, a polyamide fiber, an elastomeric fiber, a non-elastomeric fiber, wool, cotton, hemp, alpaca, acrylic-cotton blends, acrylic-wool blends and polyester.
20 . A container knitted jacket comprising:
a) a body area; b) a top area defined by an inside area and an outside area, the top area having an aperture for disposing a container within the container knitted jacket; and c) a bottom area;
wherein the bottom area covers a portion of the bottom surface of the container disposed within the container knitted jacket.
21 . A container knitted jacket according to claim 20 wherein the body area is further comprised of a neck area wherein the neck area has a diameter less than the diameter of the widest cross-sectional area of the body area.
22 . A container knitted jacket according to claim 20 wherein the bottom area is further comprised of an inside area and an outside area, the bottom area having an aperture for disposing a container through the container knitted jacket.
23 . A container jacket comprising:
a) a top welt area having an inside area and an outside area; b) a bottom welt area having an inside area and an outside area and c) a body area ps wherein the container jacket is made from at least one fiber capable of making the container jacket expandable from a relaxed position to an expanded and wherein the expanded position is greater than about 10% in diameter than the relaxed position.
24 . A container knitted jacket according to claim 23 further comprising a neck area wherein the neck area is positioned between the top welt area and the body area.
25 . A method of using a knitted jacket comprising the steps of
a) having a knitted jacket capable of receiving a container wherein the knitted jacket comprises a body area; a top area defined by an inside area and an outside area, the top area having an aperture for disposing a container therein; and a bottom area; and b) disposing a container into the knitted jacket.
26 . A method according to claim 25 wherein the bottom area further comprises an aperture for positioning a container therethrough.
27 . A method according to claim 25 wherein the body area is further comprised of a neck area wherein the neck area has a diameter less than the diameter of the widest cross-sectional area of the body area.
28 . A method of making a container knitted jacket comprising the steps of
a) loading a first fiber in a circular knit machine; and b) Initiating the knitting of the container knitted jacket, thereby forming a body area, a top area defined by an inside area and an outside area, the top area having an aperture for placing a container therein; and c) Removing the container knitted jacket from the circular knit machine.
29 . A method according to claim 28 wherein the first fiber is selected from a group consisting of lycra, spandex, nylon, a high bulk acrylic, a polyamide fiber, an elastomeric fiber, a non-elastomeric fiber, wool, cotton, hemp, alpaca, acrylic-cotton blends, acrylic-wool blends and polyester.
30 . A method according to claim 28 further comprising the step of loading a second fiber in a circular knit machine.
31 . A method according to claim 30 wherein the second fiber is selected from a group consisting of lycra, spandex, nylon, a high bulk acrylic, a polyamide fiber, an elastomeric fiber, a non-elastomeric fiber, wool, cotton, hemp, alpaca, acrylic-cotton blends, acrylic-wool blends and polyester.
32 . A method according to claim 28 wherein the circular knit machine comprises a needle count of at least 108 needles.
33 . A method according to claim 28 wherein the circular knit machine comprises a needle count range between 84 needles and 208 needles.
