Abstract
A standalone hair washing sink includes a body coupled to a ground surface of a building and extending upwardly from the ground surface. The body defines a water channel extending between an upper portion of the body and a lower portion of the body at the ground surface and the water channel is in fluid communication with a drain at the ground surface and is sized to accommodate and provide access to long hair during a hair-washing process. A receiving area at the upper portion of the body is shaped to comfortably receive and support a head or neck of a user.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A hair washing sink suited for long hair, the sink comprising:
a body coupled to a ground surface of a building and extending upwardly from the ground surface, the body defining:
a water channel extending between an upper portion of the body and a lower portion of the body at the ground surface, the water channel being in fluid communication with a drain at the ground surface and sized to accommodate long hair during a hair-washing process; and
a receiving area extending upwardly past the upper portion of the body, the receiving area shaped to receive and support a head/neck of a user.
2 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the upper portion of the body is delimited by an upper rim, and a first portion of the upper rim is at a height greater than a height of a second portion of the upper rim.
3 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the upper portion of the body is delimited by an angled rim circumscribing an upper edge of the body such that a first portion of the upper edge is at a height greater than a height of a second portion of the upper edge.
4 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the receiving area does not touch the upper portion of the body.
5 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the receiving area is selectively adjustable such that the receiving area can be extended upwardly and retracted downwardly to a selected height for supporting the head/neck of the user.
6 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the receiving area is coupled to and supported by a head/neck support assembly, and the head/neck support assembly is incorporated into the body.
7 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the receiving area is coupled to and supported by a head/neck support assembly, and the head/neck support assembly extends from a portion of the ground surface.
8 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the receiving area is coupled to and supported by a head/neck support assembly, and at least a portion of the head/neck support assembly is at a non-perpendicular angle with reference to the ground surface.
9 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the body includes an interior surface below the receiving area, and at least a portion of the interior surface is at a non-perpendicular angle to the ground surface.
10 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the body includes an interior surface below the receiving area, and the interior surface extends at an acute angle from the lower portion to the upper portion of the body.
11 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the body includes an interior surface below the receiving area, and at least a portion of the interior surface is concave-shaped when viewed from the water channel.
12 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the body includes an interior surface below the receiving area, and the interior surface includes ridges.
13 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the body extends upwardly such that the upper portion extends to a height of greater than approximately 1.5 feet from the ground surface, and the receiving area is at a height of approximately 3.5 feet from the ground surface.
14 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the body extends upwardly such that the upper portion extends to a height of greater than approximately 1.5 feet from the ground surface, and the receiving area is at a height of between approximately 1.5 feet to approximately 3.5 feet from the ground surface.
15 . The hair washing sink in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the body extends upwardly such that the upper portion extends to a height of greater than approximately 1.5 feet from the ground surface, and the receiving area is selectively adjustable to a height of approximately 3.5 feet from the ground surface.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
