Abstract
A mechanical component for an internal combustion engine includes a mechanical component body made of one of aluminum and aluminum alloy and used for the internal combustion engine, a nickel plating layer formed to cover a surface of a predetermined portion of the mechanical component body, and a reforming layer formed between the surface of the predetermined portion of the mechanical component body and the nickel plating layer.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A mechanical component for an internal combustion engine, comprising:
a mechanical component body made of one of aluminum and aluminum alloy and used for the internal combustion engine; a nickel plating layer formed to cover a surface of a predetermined portion of the mechanical component body; and a reforming layer formed between the surface of the predetermined portion of the mechanical component body and the nickel plating layer.
2 . The mechanical component according to claim 1 , wherein a hardness of the reforming layer is specified to be greater than a hardness of the surface of the predetermined portion of the mechanical component body and to be smaller than a hardness of the nickel plating layer.
3 . The mechanical component according to claim 1 , wherein a surface of the reforming layer facing the nickel plating layer includes a concavoconvex form.
4 . The mechanical component according to claim 1 , wherein the reforming layer includes nickel.
5 . The mechanical component according to claim 4 , wherein a concentration of nickel included in the reforming layer is specified to be smaller than a concentration of nickel included in the nickel plating layer.
6 . The mechanical component according to claim 1 , wherein the mechanical component body at which the reforming layer is formed includes a piston body and the surface of the predetermined portion of the mechanical component body includes a top surface of the piston body.
7 . The mechanical component according to claim 1 , wherein the nickel plating layer is formed to contact with a surface of the reforming layer facing the nickel plating layer.
8 . A manufacturing method of a mechanical component for an internal combustion engine, the manufacturing method comprising steps of:
forming a reforming layer on a surface of a predetermined portion of a mechanical component body that is made of one of aluminum and aluminum alloy by a shot peening process performed on the surface of the predetermined portion of the mechanical component body; and forming a nickel plating layer to cover the surface of the predetermined portion of the mechanical component body at which the reforming layer is formed.
9 . The manufacturing method according to claim 8 , wherein the step of forming the reforming layer includes a step of forming the reforming layer that includes nickel and a concave-convex form on the surface of the predetermined portion of the mechanical component body by a fine particle shot peening process utilizing nickel and performed on the surface of the predetermined portion of the mechanical component body.
10 . The manufacturing method according to claim 8 , wherein a hardness of the reforming layer is specified to be greater than a hardness of the surface of the predetermined portion of the mechanical component body and to be smaller than a hardness of the nickel plating layer.
11 . A mechanical component comprising:
a mechanical component body made of one of aluminum and aluminum alloy; a nickel plating layer formed to cover a surface of a predetermined portion of the mechanical component body; and a reforming layer formed between the surface of the predetermined portion of the mechanical component body and the nickel plating layer.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
