Cabinets and mirrors selectively mounted on hinges supporting roomdoors on door frames, hinges for such mountings, and methods for so mounting

Abstract

A cabinet and a door are each provided with hinge sets having hinge parts secured thereto so that they can be separately mounted on the same hinge parts that are mounted on a door frame and are connected by a hinge pin for each hinge set that support the door on the door frame, using a single hinge pin for and as a part of each hinge set. The cabinet or other storage units may be mounted via various types of brackets, such as a 180 degree bracket, curved bracket, flat bract and so forth. Other storage units may include a mesh storage unit, peg board, wire storage unit, grooved board and so forth

Having thus described my invention, I claim: 
     
         1 . A pivotally mounted storage device comprising:
 a hanging bracket comprising a plate having a top, a bottom and sides;   at least one aperture located on the plate;   an arm extending perpendicularly from the top of the plate;   an aperture located on a distal end of said arm for engaging a hinge pin of a door hinge;   said arm having a width that is less than a width of the distal end of said arm; and   a storage unit attached to said hanging bracket.   
     
     
         2 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 1  wherein:
 said at least one aperture located on the plate is at least one slot. 
 
     
     
         3 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 1  further comprising:
 at least one L-shaped wall hanging bracket that engages the distal end of the arm on the hanging bracket. 
 
     
     
         4 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 1  wherein:
 said storage unit is a cabinet. 
 
     
     
         5 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 4  further comprising:
 a storage insert that rests between an interior side panel and an exterior side panel of said cabinet. 
 
     
     
         6 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 5  wherein:
 said storage insert comprises a back wall. 
 
     
     
         7 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 5  wherein:
 said storage insert comprises a perimeter wall. 
 
     
     
         8 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 5  wherein:
 said storage insert comprises a drawer insert. 
 
     
     
         9 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 4  wherein:
 said cabinet further comprises a rear panel door that is hingedly attached to the cabinet along a lower edge of the rear panel door via a hinge. 
 
     
     
         10 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 1  wherein:
 said hanging bracket is attached to a cabinet having a left side panel and a right side panel attached together by at least one hinge. 
 
     
     
         11 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 1  wherein:
 said hanging bracket is attached to a mesh storage unit. 
 
     
     
         12 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 1  wherein:
 said hanging bracket is attached to a wire storage unit. 
 
     
     
         13 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 1  wherein:
 said hanging bracket is attached to a peg board storage unit. 
 
     
     
         14 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 1  wherein:
 said hanging bracket is attached to a grooved board storage unit. 
 
     
     
         15 . A pivotally mounted storage device comprising:
 a hanging bracket comprising a plate having a top, a bottom and sides;   at least one aperture located on the plate;   an arm extending perpendicularly from the top of the plate;   an aperture located on a distal end of said arm for engaging a hinge pin of a door hinge;   said distal end being substantially circular-shaped;   said arm having a width that is less than a width of the distal end of said arm; and   a storage unit attached to said hanging bracket.   
     
     
         16 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 15  wherein:
 said at least one aperture located on the plate is at least one slot. 
 
     
     
         17 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 15  further comprising:
 at least one L-shaped wall hanging bracket that engages the distal end of the arm on the hanging bracket. 
 
     
     
         18 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 15  wherein:
 said storage unit is a cabinet. 
 
     
     
         19 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 18  further comprising:
 a storage insert that rests between an interior side panel and an exterior side panel of said cabinet. 
 
     
     
         20 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 19  wherein:
 said storage insert comprises a back wall. 
 
     
     
         21 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 19  wherein:
 said storage insert comprises a perimeter wall. 
 
     
     
         22 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 19  wherein:
 said storage insert comprises a drawer insert. 
 
     
     
         23 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 18  wherein:
 said cabinet further comprises a rear panel door that is hingedly attached to the cabinet along a lower edge of the rear panel door via a hinge. 
 
     
     
         24 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 15  wherein:
 said hanging bracket is attached to a cabinet having a left side panel and a right side panel attached together by at least one hinge. 
 
     
     
         25 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 15  wherein:
 said hanging bracket is attached to a mesh storage unit. 
 
     
     
         26 . The pivotally mounted storage device of  claim 15  wherein:
 said hanging bracket is attached to a wire storage unit. 
 
     
     
         27 . The hanging bracket of  claim 15  wherein:
 said pivotally mounted storage device is attached to a peg board storage unit.
