Abstract
A method and apparatus are provided. The method includes obtaining, at an electronic apparatus, one or more candidates based at least in part on a first input associated with a plurality of geographical locations, selecting a destination from the one or more candidates based at least in part on a second input, receiving a map image corresponding to a location of the electronic apparatus and the destination, from an external device, and providing, based at least in part on the map image, a navigation service.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method comprising:
obtaining, at an electronic apparatus, one or more candidates based at least in part on a first input associated with a plurality of geographical locations; selecting a destination from the one or more candidates based at least in part on a second input; receiving a map image corresponding to a location of the electronic apparatus and the destination, from an external device; and providing, based at least in part on the map image, a navigation service.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the obtaining comprises:
transmitting data corresponding to the first input to at least one device of the external device or another device, such that the at least one device can perform a search to obtain the one or more candidates.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the obtaining comprises:
receiving data corresponding to the one or more candidates from the external device or another device.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the obtaining comprises:
displaying information associated with at least one of the one or more candidates.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the receiving of the map image comprises:
transmitting data corresponding to the destination to the external device, as at least part of a request for the map image.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the receiving of the map image comprises:
receiving data corresponding to at least one of a display format, a road line or a route guidance.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing comprises:
displaying at least one portion of the map image, as at least part of the navigation service.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the displaying comprises:
displaying, on the at least one portion of the map image, at least one of a visual indicator corresponding to the location of the electronic apparatus or at least a portion of a guide path between the location of the electronic apparatus and the destination.
9 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the displaying comprises:
displaying the at least one portion of the map image in a scaled-down form, via a portion of a display operatively coupled with the electronic apparatus.
10 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the displaying comprises:
altering at least one of a size or a position of the at least one portion of the map image, based at least in part on a third user input.
11 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the displaying comprises:
displaying the at least one portion of the map image on a standby screen of the electronic apparatus.
12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing comprises:
outputting audio in relation with the navigation service.
13 . An apparatus comprising:
a display; and a processor-implemented controller operatively coupled to the display, the processor-implemented controller configured to:
obtain one or more candidates based at least in part on a first input associated with a plurality of geographical locations;
select a destination from the one or more candidates based at least in part on a second user input;
receive a map image corresponding to a location of the apparatus and the destination, from an external device; and
present at least one portion of the map image via the display as at least part of a navigation service.
14 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the processor-implemented controller is configured to transmit first data corresponding to the text to the external device and, in response to the first data, receive second data corresponding to the one or more candidates from the external device.
15 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the processor-implemented controller is configured to obtain the location of the apparatus in real time during the navigation service.
16 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the processor-implemented controller is configured to transmit the location of the apparatus to the external device.
17 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the processor-implemented controller is configured to obtain another map image associated with the location of the apparatus from the external device.
18 . An apparatus comprising:
storage to store data related to a navigation service to be provided via an external device; and a server module operatively coupled to the storage, the server module configured to:
receive information associated with a plurality of geographical locations, from the external device;
identify one or more candidates based at least in part on the information;
retrieve, from the data, a map image corresponding to a location of the external device and a destination selected from the one or more candidates; and
transmit the map image to the external device such that the external device can present at least one portion of the map image as at least part of the navigation service.
19 . The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the storage is configured to store data corresponding to at least one of a display format, a road line or a route guidance.
20 . The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the server module is configured to transmit another map image associated with the location of the external device to the external device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
