Claims

Abstract

A device is described for carrying an item inside a wallet or other carrying cases. The device includes a base which can be inserted into a slot, a pocket or a compartment of a wallet or a carrying case. A peripheral edge of the base has a protruding part which snap fits or slip fits into and removes out of a pocket, pouch-like receptacle, compartment or cavity of a holder. An item, such as a pen, pencil, stylus, highlighter, eyeliner, nail file, flashlight, for example, can then fit inside the holder to be held inside a slot, pocket or compartment of a wallet or a carrying case. The holder of the device can be attached or fastened to the base through a variety of different attachments, including for example, rivets, loops, clips, clamps, ball joints, and hinges/slots.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A device comprising:
 a base configured to fit into a slot, pocket or compartment and having a protruding part positioned on a peripheral edge of the base; and   a holder having a first pocket and a second pocket,   wherein the protruding part slip fits into the first pocket of the holder, and the second pocket of the holder having an opening configured for receipt of an item.   
     
     
         2 . The device of  claim 1 , wherein the first pocket has an opening on an exterior surface of the holder. 
     
     
         3 . The device of  claim 1 , wherein the first pocket is positioned in a body of the holder, and the first pocket being separate from the second pocket. 
     
     
         4 . The device of  claim 1 , wherein the slot, pocket or compartment is contained in a wallet. 
     
     
         5 . The device of  claim 1 , wherein the slot, pocket or compartment is contained in a carrying case. 
     
     
         6 . The device of  claim 1 , wherein the protruding part has a first protrusion at one end and the holder has a second protrusion located inside first pocket of the holder, and
 wherein the first protrusion interlocks with the second protrusion when the protruding part of the base slides into first pocket of the holder.   
     
     
         7 . A device comprising:
 a first base being configured to be inserted into a slot, pocket or compartment and having at least one slot; and   a holder having a hinge attached to a second base,   wherein the second base and the hinge can be inserted into one of the at least one slot in the first base.   
     
     
         8 . The device of  claim 7 , wherein the slot of the first base is formed at an angle of forty-five degrees to a corner of the base. 
     
     
         9 . The device of  claim 7 , wherein the first base comprises a pair of flaps, wherein a space between the pair of flaps forms the at least one slot. 
     
     
         10 . A device comprising:
 a base configured to be inserted into a slot, pocket or compartment; and   a holder configured for receipt of an item and having an attachment, the attachment connecting the holder to the base.   
     
     
         11 . The device of  claim 10 , wherein the attachment is comprised of one or more loops. 
     
     
         12 . The device of  claim 10 , wherein the base further comprises a collar, and the attachment connects to the collar and the holder. 
     
     
         13 . The device of  claim 10 , wherein the attachment is hinged to the base and the holder, thereby permitting the holder to align along two different sides of the base. 
     
     
         14 . The device of  claim 10 , wherein the base can be folded. 
     
     
         15 . The device of  claim 10 , wherein the attachment is a clip. 
     
     
         16 . The device of  claim 10 , wherein the attachment is a clamp. 
     
     
         17 . The device of  claim 10 , wherein the base includes two or more perforations, and the attachment includes two or more hook notches.
