Abstract

A rotatable shower rod system may be provided. The system may include a pair of mounting brackets coupled to a wall, the pair of mounting brackets includes a stationary portion; a rotatable portion rotatably coupled to the stationary portion, the rotatable portion rotates to at least one of a first position and a second position about an axis of rotation; and a cover coupled to the stationary portion; and a curved rod extending between the pair of mounting brackets.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A rotatable shower rod system comprising:
a substantially curved rod portion; a pair of mounting bracket covers; and a pair of mounting brackets, said pair of mounting brackets comprising: a stationary portion configured to secure to a mounting surface; and a rotatable portion rotatably mounted to said stationary portion, said rotatable portion configured to rotate to at least one of a first position and a second position about an axis, wherein said rotatable portion is further configured to couple with an end of the substantially curved rod portion.

2 . The rotatable shower rod system of claim 1 , wherein the rotatable portion rotates about an axis, which is perpendicular to the mounting surface.

3 . The rotatable shower rod system of claim 1 , wherein the stationary portion is substantially disk shaped with an aperture disposed centrally through its face and a semi-circular well portion disposed thereon.

4 . The rotatable shower rod system of claim 3 , wherein the rotatable portion is substantially disk shaped with a projection disposed on a first face for rotatably inserting in the aperture disposed in the stationary portion, a coupling member is disposed on a second face for coupling to an end of the rod portion, and wherein the rotatable portion is sized to rotate within the well portion.

5 . The rotatable shower rod system of claim 4 , further comprising at least one cam on a first or second surface of the rotatable portion configured to interact with a projection of the stationary portion, or the well portion disposed thereon, in order to stop the rotation of rotatable portion at a desired orientation.

6 . The rotatable shower rod system of claim 1 , further comprising a pair of mounting bracket covers configured to secure over the mounting brackets and having apertures therein to allow the rod portion to freely pass through the covers.

7 . The rotatable shower rod system of claim 1 , wherein the rod portion is extendable.

8 . The rotatable shower rod system of claim 1 , further comprising a pair of swivel collars configured to secure around the rod portion and maintain a desired orientation angle between the rod portion and the mounting bracket to facilitate rotation.

9 . The rotatable shower rod system of claim 8 , further comprising at least one set screw for securing the swivel collar in a desired position.

10 . The rotatable shower rod system of claim 1 , further comprising a motor coupled to the rotatable portion for facilitating rotating the rotatable portion between a first and second position.
