Abstract
A core spun yarn, wherein the core is a stretchable filament and is surrounded by a sheath of polytrimethylene terephthalate based staple fibers in combination with a second staple fiber. A fabric is made using the core spun yarn. The fabric produced from the core spun yarn is highly stretchable, has high dimensional stability, low growth and high recovery.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1 . A core spun yarn comprising a core comprising a stretchable filament surrounded by a sheath comprising a polytrimethylene terephthalate based staple fiber in combination with a second staple fiber.
2 . The core spun yarn of claim 1 wherein the stretchable filament is a spandex filament.
3 . The core spun yarn of claim 1 wherein the second fiber is selected from a group consisting of cotton, viscose, polyester, nylon, modal, tencel, wool and combinations thereof.
4 . The core spun yarn of claim 1 wherein the polytrimethylene terephthalate based staple fiber content in the sheath is in the range of 10% to 60%.
5 . The core spun yarn of claim 2 wherein the spandex filament content is in the range of 2 to 10%.
6 . The core spun yarn of claim 1 wherein the second staple fiber is a cotton staple fiber.
7 . A fabric comprising a core spun yarn comprising a core comprising a stretchable filament surrounded by a sheath comprising a polytrimethylene terephthalate based staple fiber in combination with a second staple fiber.
8 . The fabric of claim 7 wherein the fabric has weft yarn and warp yarn and wherein the core spun yarn is the weft yarn and the warp yarn is selected from a group consisting of cotton, nylon, polyester, wool, viscose and combinations thereof.
9 . The fabric as claimed in claim 7 wherein the fabric has a stretch recovery in the range of 75 to 95% and a growth of <2.3%.
10 . The fabric of claim 7 wherein the fabric is used for applications selected from the group consisting of garments, sheeting material, furnishings, and upholstery.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
