Abstract

An article of armor. The article has a composite article with an exposed edge and a wrap layer wrapped around at least a portion of the exterior surface of the composite article and around at least a portion of the exposed edge. The article of armor may be a helmet.

         1 . An article of armor comprising a composite article having an exposed edge, a wrap layer wrapped around at least a portion of an exterior surface of the composite article and around at least a portion of the exposed edge. 
     
     
         2 . The article of  claim 1  wherein the wrap layer comprises fiber pre -impregnated with resin. 
     
     
         3 . The article of  claim 1  wherein the article of armor is a helmet.
