Abstract

In one aspect, method is provided for controlling a display device, comprising: displaying, on a touchscreen display, a first window executing a first application and a second window executing a second application; receiving, at the touchscreen display, a first command input to the first window and a second command input to the second window; determining whether the first command and the second command are received simultaneously; dispatching, by a processor, the first command; and dispatching, by the processor, the second command.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for controlling a display device, the method comprising:
 displaying, on a touchscreen display, a first window executing a first application and a second window executing a second application;   receiving, at the touchscreen display, a first command input to the first window and a second command input to the second window;   determining whether the first command and the second command are received simultaneously;   outputting a first event corresponding to the first command; and   outputting a second event corresponding to the second command.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein displaying the first window and the second window comprises:
 determining positions of the first window and the second window;   storing the determined positions of the first window and the second window in a memory; and   displaying the first window and the second window based on the determined positions.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising matching the stored position of the first window with an input position of the first command and matching the position of the second window with an input position of the second command. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , further comprising dispatching the first command to the first application and dispatching the second command to the second application based on the matching outcome. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the first command and the second command are received simultaneously when a difference between a time when the first command is received and a time when the second command is received is smaller than a threshold. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein ouputting the first command includes:
 dispatching the first command based on the first event when it is determined that the first command and the second command are received simultaneously; and   otherwise, dispatching the first command based on display rankings of the first command and the second command, when it is determined that the first command and the second command are not received simultaneously.   
     
     
         7 . A display device for executing an application, the display device comprising:
 a touch screen configured to:   display a first window executing a first application and a second window executing a second application,   receive a first command input to the first window and a second command input to the second window, the first command and the second being received simultaneously; and   a controller configured to output a first event corresponding to the first command and a second event corresponding to the second command.   
     
     
         8 . The display device of  claim 7 , wherein the controller is configured to determine positions of the first window and the second window, store the determined positions of the first window and the second window, and display the first window and the second window based on the determined positions of the first window and the second window. 
     
     
         9 . The display device of  claim 7 , wherein the controller matches the stored position of the first window with an input position of the first command and matches the position of the second window with an input position of the second command. 
     
     
         10 . The display device of  claim 9 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
 dispatch the first command to the first application only when the first application the position of the first window is determined to match the first command; and   dispatches the second command to the second application only when the position of the second window is determined to match the second command.   
     
     
         11 . The display device of  claim 7 , wherein the controller is further configured to determine whether the first command and the second command are input simultaneously, the determining being based on whether a difference between a time when the first command is input and a time when the second command is input is smaller than a threshold. 
     
     
         12 . The display device of  claim 7 , the first command is dispatched based on whether a position of the first window is determined to match the first command only when the first command and the second command are determined to have been received simultaneously. 
     
     
         13 . The display device of  claim 8 , wherein the controller is further configured to store in a memory a record indicating the positions of the first window and the second window. 
     
     
         14 . The display device of  claim 8 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
 match a position of the first window with an input position of the first command;   match a position of the second window with an input position of the second command;   dispatch the first command based on whether the position of the first window is determined to match the first command; and   dispatch the second command based on whether the position of the second window is determined to match the second command.   
     
     
         15 . A method for controlling a display device, the method comprising:
 displaying a plurality of windows, each window executing a different application;   receiving a plurality of commands that are input into the plurality of windows, each command being received at a different window, wherein the commands are received simultaneously; and   simultaneously inputting commands to two or more windows among the plurality of windows; and   processing the commands input to the windows on the input windows.   
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein processing the commands includes outputting events corresponding to the commands to applications executed in the windows. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein processing the commands includes, for each command, comparing an input location associated with that command with locations associated with each one of the plurality of windows. 
     
     
         18 . A display device for executing applications, the display device comprising:
 a touchscreen configured to display a plurality of windows executing applications; and   a controller coupled to the touchscreen, the controller configured to:   receive a plurality of commands that are input into the plurality of windows, each command being received at a different window, wherein the commands are received simultaneously; and   output each of the commands to a different one of the plurality of windows.   
     
     
         19 . The display device of  claim 18 , wherein outputting the commands includes outputting events corresponding to the commands to applications executed in the windows. 
     
     
         20 . The display device of  claim 18 , wherein outputting the commands includes, for each command, comparing an input location associated with that command with locations associated with each one of the plurality of windows. 
     
     
         21 . A method for controlling a display device, the method comprising:
 receiving commands directed to a first application and a second application, the first application being executed in a first window and the second application being executed in a second window;   determining, by a processor, a position of the first window and a position of the second window, the determining being performed by a kernel of an operating system executed by the processor;   displaying the first window and the second window;   simultaneously receiving a first command input to the first window and a second command input to the second window;   matching an input position of the first command with the position of the first window and matching an input position of the second command with the position of the second window in the kernel level; and   outputting a first event corresponding to the first command and a second event corresponding to the second command based on the matching outcome.   
     
     
         22 . A method for controlling a display device, the method comprising:
 receiving commands directed to a first application and a second application, the first application being executed in a first window and the second application being executed in a second window;   determining, by a processor, a position of the first window and a position of the second window, the determining being performed at a platform level;   displaying the first window and the second window;   simultaneously receiving a first command input to the first window and a second command input to the second window;   matching an input position of the first command with the position of the first window and matching an input position of the second command with the position of the second window in the platform level; and   outputting a first event corresponding to the first command and a second event corresponding to the second command based on the matching outcome.
