Method and apparatus for providing and managing update information

Abstract

A method and an apparatus for update information management is provided. One or more pieces of update information related to at least one category from a plurality of categories are stored in a storage unit of the user terminal. One or more pieces of notice information regarding the one or more pieces of the update information are displayed within a first information region of a screen of the user terminal. The one or more pieces of the update information related to the one or more pieces of the notice information are displayed within a second information region of the screen of the user terminal, when an input is received requesting the update information related to the one or more pieces of the notice information

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An update information management method in a user terminal, the method comprising:
 storing one or more pieces of update information related to at least one category from a plurality of categories in a storage unit of the user terminal;   displaying one or more pieces of notice information regarding the one or more pieces of the update information within a first information region of a screen of the user terminal; and   displaying, within a second information region of the screen of the user terminal, the one or more pieces of the update information related to the one or more pieces of the notice information, when an input is received requesting the update information related to the one or more pieces of the notice information.   
     
     
         2 . The update information management method of  claim 1 , wherein the input requesting the update information comprises a touch and drop down input based on the first information region. 
     
     
         3 . The update information management method of  claim 1 , further comprising closing the second information region, when a touch and rise up input is received based on the second information region. 
     
     
         4 . The update information management method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 when one piece of the update information is selected from the one or more pieces of the update information displayed within the second information region, executing an application, which is related to the one piece of the update information, from a plurality of applications installed in the user terminal.   
     
     
         5 . The update information management method of  claim 1 , further comprising, when the one or more pieces of the update information comprise one or more links regarding one or more resources that provide related data,
 receiving the related data from a resource corresponding to a link, when the link is selected based on the one or more pieces of the update information.   
     
     
         6 . The update information management method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 when displaying the one or more pieces of the update information in the second information region, displaying at least one piece of category information in the first information region.   
     
     
         7 . An apparatus for performing update information management, the apparatus comprising:
 a storage unit storing one or more pieces of update information related to at least one category from a plurality of categories;   a display unit configured to display one or more pieces of notice information regarding the one or more pieces of the update information within a first information region of a screen; and   a control unit configured to control the display unit to display, within a second information region of the screen, the one or more pieces of the update information related to the one or more pieces of the notice information, when an input is received requesting the update information related to the one or more pieces of the notice information.   
     
     
         8 . The apparatus of  claim 7 , wherein the input requesting the update information comprises a touch and drop down input based on the first information region. 
     
     
         9 . The apparatus of  claim 7 , wherein the control unit is further configured to close the second information region, when a touch and rise up input is received based on the second information region. 
     
     
         10 . The apparatus of  claim 7 , wherein, when one piece of the update information is selected from the one or more pieces of the update information displayed within the second information region, the control unit is further configured to execute an application, which is related to the one piece of the update information, from a plurality of applications installed in the user terminal. 
     
     
         11 . The apparatus of  claim 7 , wherein, when the one or more pieces of the update information comprise one or more links regarding one or more resources that provide related data, the control unit is further configured to receive the related data from a resource corresponding to a link, when the link is selected based on the one or more pieces of the update information. 
     
     
         12 . The apparatus of  claim 7 , wherein, when the display unit displays the one or more pieces of the update information in the second information region, the control unit is further configured to display at least one piece of category information in the first information region. 
     
     
         13 . A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium having recorded thereon a program for executing an update information management method, the method comprising:
 storing one or more pieces of update information related to at least one category from a plurality of categories in a storage unit of the user terminal;   displaying one or more pieces of notice information regarding the one or more pieces of the update information within a first information region of a screen of the user terminal; and   displaying, within a second information region of the screen of the user terminal, the one or more pieces of the update information related to the one or more pieces of the notice information, when an input is received requesting the update information related to the one or more pieces of the notice information.   
     
     
         14 . The non-transitory computer-readable recording medium of  claim 13 , wherein the input requesting the update information comprises a touch and drop down input based on the first information region. 
     
     
         15 . The non-transitory computer-readable recording medium of  claim 13 , wherein the method further comprises closing the second information region, when a touch and rise up input is received based on the second information region. 
     
     
         16 . The non-transitory computer-readable recording medium of  claim 13 , wherein the method further comprises:
 when one piece of the update information is selected from the one or more pieces of the update information displayed within the second information region, executing an application, which is related to the one piece of the update information, from a plurality of applications installed in the user terminal.   
     
     
         17 . The non-transitory computer-readable recording medium of  claim 13 , wherein the method further comprises:
 when the one or more pieces of the update information comprise one or more links regarding one or more resources that provide related data, receiving the related data from a resource corresponding to a link, when the link is selected based on the one or more pieces of the update information.   
     
     
         18 . The non-transitory computer-readable recording medium of  claim 13 , wherein the method further comprises:
 when displaying the one or more pieces of the update information in the second information region, displaying at least one piece of category information in the first information region.
