Method and system for listing items globally and regionally, and customized listing according to currency or shipping area

Abstract

In one example embodiment, there is provided a method comprising storing information corresponding to a plurality of items to be presented at a regional site associated with a global electronic marketplace, wherein the plurality of items is a subset of items offered by the global electronic marketplace; presenting, at the regional site, information pertaining to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner and receiving, from a user, a request to purchase one or more of the plurality of items via the regional site.

1 . A method comprising:
 storing information corresponding to a plurality of items to be presented at a regional site associated with a global electronic marketplace, wherein the plurality of items is a subset of items offered by the global electronic marketplace;   presenting, at the regional site, information pertaining to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner; and   receiving, from a user, a request to purchase one or more of the plurality of items via the regional site.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein presenting information pertaining to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presenting a region-specific product description. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein presenting information pertaining to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presenting a region-specific currency. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein presenting information pertaining to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presenting a language of a region associated with the region of the site. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein presenting information pertaining to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presenting a language of a region associated with the location of the user. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein presenting information pertaining to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presenting customized presentation features. 
     
     
         7 . A system comprising:
 at least one module, executing on one or more computer processors, to:   store information that corresponds to a plurality of items to be presented at a regional site associated with a global electronic marketplace, wherein the plurality of items is a subset of items offered by the global electronic marketplace;   present, at the regional site, information that pertains to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner; and   receive, from a user, a request to purchase one or more of the plurality of items via the regional site.   
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein present information that pertains to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presentation of a region-specific product description. 
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein present information that pertains to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presentation of a region-specific currency. 
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein present information that pertains to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presentation of a language of a region associated with the region of the site. 
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein present information that pertains to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presentation of a language of a region associated with the location of the user. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein present information that pertains to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presentation of customized presentation features. 
     
     
         13 . A machine readable medium, including instructions, which when performed by a machine, causes the machine to perform the operations of:
 storing information corresponding to a plurality of items to be presented at a regional site associated with a global electronic marketplace, wherein the plurality of items is a subset of items offered by the global electronic marketplace;   presenting, at the regional site, information pertaining to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner; and   receiving, from a user, a request to purchase one or more of the plurality of items via the regional site.   
     
     
         14 . The medium of  claim 13 , wherein presenting information pertaining to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presenting a region-specific product description. 
     
     
         15 . The medium of  claim 13 , wherein presenting information pertaining to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presenting a region-specific currency. 
     
     
         16 . The medium of  claim 13 , wherein presenting information pertaining to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presenting a language of a region associated with the region of the site. 
     
     
         17 . The medium of  claim 13 , wherein presenting information pertaining to the plurality of items in a region-specific manner includes presenting a language of a region associated with the location of the user.
