Abstract

A crossbow cocking device attaches to both a user's wrist and a crossbow and permits a user to prepare a shot without startling the animal to be hunted. The device includes a first strap having a first end and a second end. The first and second ends define an aperture extending from a top side to a bottom side of the first strap when the first end is coupled to the second end. The aperture is configured for positioning around a wrist of a user. A first fastener and a second fastener couple the first and second ends of the first strap. A second strap is coupled to and extends outwardly from the first strap. A third fastener is coupled to the second strap and is configured for coupling to a crossbow string.

2 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising said first and second ends of said first strap defining a V-shape.

3 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising:
said first strap forming first and second overlapping sections; and said first fastener being coupled to said first and second overlapping sections wherein a circumference of said aperture is adjustable.

4 . The device of claim 3 , further comprising said first fastener being complementary portions of hook and loop fastener, each of said complementary portions of hook and loop fastener of said first fastener being an elongated strip positioned on said bottom side of said first strap proximate a bottom end of each of said first and second ends of said first strap.

5 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising said second fastener being positioned on said top side of said first strap proximate a bottom end of each of said first and second ends of said first strap.

6 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a pair of supplemental straps coupling said second fastener to said first strap, each of said supplemental straps being coupled to an associated one of said first and second ends of said first strap, said supplemental straps being positioned on said top side of said first strap proximate said second fastener.

7 . The device of claim 6 , further comprising:
a plurality of apertures being positioned in one of said supplemental straps wherein said second fastener is configured to extend through a selectable one of said apertures; and a pair of openings being positioned in said second fastener wherein each of said supplemental straps extends through an associated one of said openings to couple said supplemental strap to said second fastener.

8 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a supplemental fastener coupling said second fastener to said first strap.

9 . The device of claim 8 , further comprising said supplemental fastener being complementary portions of hook and loop fastener, each of said complementary portions of hook and loop fastener of said supplemental fastener being an elongated strip, said complementary portions of hook and loop fastener of said supplemental fastener comprising a strap portion and a fastener portion wherein said strap portion is coupled to said first strap.

10 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising:
said second strap having a first portion spaced from a second portion; and a ring coupling said first portion to said second portion wherein said ring extends through openings in each of said first portion and said second portion, said ring being coupled to a first end of said second portion.

11 . The device of claim 10 , further comprising an opening being positioned in a first side of said third fastener wherein said second end of said second portion extends through said opening and couples said second portion to said third fastener.

12 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising said third fastener being arcuate.

13 . The device of claim 12 , further comprising said third fastener being a hook.

14 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising an adjustment fastener coupled to said second strap, said adjustment fastener having a pair of openings through which said second strap extends wherein said adjustment fastener permits adjustment of a length of said second strap.

15 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising an arcuate depression extending downwardly into said third fastener, said depression being positioned on a top side of said third fastener,

16 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising said second fastener being a buckle.

         17 . A crossbow cocking device comprising:
a first strap having a first end and a second end wherein said first and second ends define a V-shape, said first strap forming first and second overlapping sections, said first and second ends defining an aperture extending from a top side to a bottom side of said first strap when said first end is coupled to said second end, said aperture being configured for positioning around a wrist of a user; a first fastener coupled to said first strap, said first fastener being coupled to said first and second overlapping sections wherein a circumference of said aperture is adjustable, said first fastener being complementary portions of hook and loop fastener, each of said complementary portions of hook and loop fastener of said first fastener being an elongated strip positioned on said bottom side of said first strap proximate a bottom end of each of said first and second ends of said first strap; a second fastener coupled to said first strap, said second fastener being positioned on said top side of said first strap proximate said bottom ends, said second fastener comprising a buckle; wherein said first fastener and said second fastener couple said first and second ends of said first strap; a pair of supplemental straps coupling said second fastener to said first strap, each of said supplemental straps being coupled to an associated one of said first and second ends of said first strap, said supplemental straps being positioned on said top side of said first strap proximate said second fastener; a plurality of apertures being positioned in one of said supplemental straps wherein said second fastener is configured to extend through a selectable one of said apertures; a pair of openings being positioned in said second fastener wherein each of said supplemental straps extends through an associated one of said openings to couple said supplemental strap to said second fastener; a supplemental fastener coupling said second fastener to said first strap, said supplemental fastener being complementary portions of hook and loop fastener, each of said complementary portions of hook and loop fastener of said supplemental fastener being an elongated strip, said complementary portions of hook and loop fastener of said supplemental fastener comprising a strap portion and a fastener portion wherein said strap portion is coupled to said first strap; a second strap coupled to and extending outwardly from said first strap, said second strap having a first portion spaced from a second portion; a ring coupling said first portion to said second portion wherein said ring extends through openings in each of said first portion and said second portion, said ring being coupled to a first end of said second portion; a third fastener coupled to said second strap, said third fastener having a first side opposite a second side, said third fastener being arcuate wherein said third fastener comprises a hook, said second side of said third fastener being configured for coupling to a string of a crossbow; an adjustment fastener coupled to said second strap, said adjustment fastener having a pair of openings through which said second strap extends wherein said adjustment fastener permits adjustment of a length of said second strap; an arcuate depression extending downwardly into said third fastener, said depression being positioned on a top side of said third fastener; and an opening being positioned in said first side of said third fastener wherein said second end of said second portion extends through said opening and couples said second portion to said third fastener.
