Abstract
The embodiments herein focus on improving recognition accuracy of these fields on credit card bills by detecting and identifying critical fields on a credit card, extracting the data from the critical fields and comparing the data with known data on a payor, payee and biller.

1 . A computer readable medium containing instructions which, when executed by a computer, perform a process comprising:
receiving an input image of a credit card bill; performing a codeline recognition process; capturing a postal service barcode; extracting an account number and balance due from the image using an optical character recognition process; obtaining an address of a payor and payee from the image; identifying the payor and payee based on a comparison of the obtained addresses with a database of payor and payee addresses; performing a keyword-based capture to obtain a biller name; confirming a biller name; and outputting bill data from the credit card bill to a user.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
