Abstract
Room dividers with a layer of porous fibrous tackable/acoustic sheet material which is sufficiently durable to serve the same function as a non-tackable/acoustic layer, yet which is sufficiently porous that it can be used as a tackable/acoustic surface. This layer can be provided over a panel core, or can be provided in the form of tiles used to cover a panel core.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A room divider panel comprising: a structural support panel having first and second faces on opposite sides thereof; at least one porous fibrous sheet secured at least said first face of said support panel; said porous fibrous sheet having sufficient porosity to afford tackability and sound absorption, yet is sufficiently durable to serve the same function as a non-tackable layer would serve.
. The room divider panel of claim 1 in which said porous fibrous sheet has a basis weight of from 500 to 1000 grams per square meter.
. The room divider panel of claim 2 , wherein said porous fibrous sheet is from 2 to 5 mm thick.
. The room divider panel of claim 3 , wherein said porous fibrous sheet is free of formaldehyde.
. The room divider panel of claim 4 , wherein said porous fibrous sheet has a density of from 250 kg/m3 to 350 kg/m3.
. The room divider panel of claim 5 , wherein said structural support comprises a core member surrounded by a frame, said porous fibrous sheet being secured to said frame.
. The room divider panel of claim 6 , wherein there is a layer of decorative material over said porous fibrous sheet.
. The room divider panel of claim 1 , wherein said structural support comprises a core member surrounded by a frame, said porous fibrous sheet being secured to said frame.
. The room divider panel of claim 1 , wherein said porous fibrous sheet is secured to the perimeter of said structural support.
. The room divider panel of claim 1 , wherein said porous fibrous sheet is made of at least two different types of fibers of differing melting points, the lower melting point fiber acting as an adhesive to consolidate said fibers into said fibrous mass.
. A tackable/acoustic tile for use on room divider panels comprising: a first porous fibrous panel having sufficient porosity to afford tackability and sound absorption, laminated to a first side of a core panel, and a second porous fibrous panel laminated to the opposite side of said core panel.
. A room divider panel comprising a structural support frame and a plurality of composite laminated tackable/acoustic tiles secured to said frame, each said tackable/acoustic tile comprising a first porous fibrous panel having sufficient porosity to afford tackability and sound absorption, laminated to the outward facing side of a core panel.
. The room divider panel of claim 12 having a basis weight of from 500 to 1000 grams per square meter.
. The room divider panel of claim 13 , wherein said porous fibrous sheets are from 2 to 5 mm thick.
. The room divider panel of claim 14 , wherein said porous fibrous sheet is free of formaldehyde.
. The room divider panel of claim 15 , wherein said porous fibrous sheet has a density of from 250 kg/3 to 350 kg/m3.
. The room divider panel of claim 16 , wherein said porous fibrous sheet is adhered to said structural support frame.
. The room divider panel of claim 17 , wherein there is a layer of decorative material over said outwardly facing porous fibrous panel of each said tile.
. The room divider panel claim 12 , wherein said porous fibrous sheet is made of at least two different types of fibers of differing melting points, the lower melting point fiber acting as an adhesive to consolidate said fibers into said fibrous mass.
. The room divider panel of claim 12 , wherein a second porous fibrous panel is laminated to the inwardly facing side of said core panel.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
