Pegboard stocking and resetting system

Abstract

Methods and apparatuses for making a stocking strip for pegboard stocking. The stocking strip includes an elongated strip containing information for locating a plurality of different products on a peg board display, a first identification number for identifying the strip, a first text area for identifying a source planogram or print job, a second text area for listing stocking location in a sales establishment which contains the pegboard display, a third text area for listing a height for the product, a demarcation for indicating a span of the position of the product on the pegboard, a product image, a product identifier, a color marker and a peg indicator for locating the peg on the pegboard display.

         42 . A stocking strip for pegboard stocking comprising:
 a strip for locating a product on a peg board display, the strip including:
 a peg indicator for locating a peg on the pegboard display, the peg indicator having a position on the strip that corresponds to a position of the peg on the pegboard display when the strip is in position on the pegboard display; and 
   a product identifier positioned on the strip next to the peg indicator, the product identifier identifying a specific product or set of products to be displayed on the peg on the pegboard display.   
     
     
         43 . The stocking strip according to  claim 42 , wherein the peg indicator comprises a printed marker for indicating a position of the peg to be positioned on the pegboard display. 
     
     
         44 . The stocking strip according to  claim 42 , further comprising a location information area for printing thereon information indicating a location of the pegboard display in a sales establishment. 
     
     
         45 . The stocking strip according to  claim 42 , further comprising a strip identification number for distinguishing the stocking strip from other stocking strips. 
     
     
         46 . The stocking strip according to  claim 42 , wherein the product identifier comprises text identifying the product, or an image related to the product which is to be located on the peg to which the peg indicator corresponds. 
     
     
         47 . The stocking strip according to  claim 42 , further comprising information regarding a number of units of the product to be placed on the peg. 
     
     
         48 . The stocking strip according to  claim 42 , further comprising a row indicator for indicating a row of the pegboard display on which the stocking strip is to be placed. 
     
     
         49 . The stocking strip according to  claim 42 , further comprising a first printed demarcation for indicating a first border with a first adjacent product and a second printed demarcation for indicating a second border with a second adjacent product. 
     
     
         50 . The strip according to  claim 42 , wherein the strip comprises a plurality of peg indicators indicating the position of a plurality of pegs to be located on a common row of the pegboard display. 
     
     
         51 . A pegboard organization system for locating product on a pegboard display comprising:
 a plurality of stocking strips wherein each stocking strip comprises:   a strip for locating one or more products on a pegboard display, wherein the strips are designated to be positioned on the pegboard display in a predetermined location and each include:   a peg indicator for indicating a peg on the pegboard display, the peg indicator having a position on the strip that corresponds to the position of the peg on the pegboard display when the strip is in position on the pegboard, and   a product-identifier positioned next to the peg indicator on the strip, the product identifier identifying a product or set of to be displayed on the peg on the pegboard display.   
     
     
         52 . The pegboard organization system according to  claim 51 , wherein the plurality of stocking strips are printed as a common sheet with perforations between adjacent strips. 
     
     
         53 . A stocking strip for pegboard stocking comprising:
 an elongated strip comprising information for locating a plurality of different products on a pegboard display;   a first identification number for identifying the strip;   a first text area for printing thereon source information identifying a source planogram or print job used to print the strip, wherein the source planogram indicates the position of the strip on the pegboard display;   a second text area for printing thereon location information indicating a location in a sales establishment at which the pegboard display is displayed;   a third text area for printing thereon height information indicating a height position for the strip;   a peg indicator that indicates a position of a peg on the pegboard display, the peg indicator having a position on the elongated strip that corresponds to the position of the peg on the pegboard display when the elongated strip is in place on the pegboard display;   a product identifier positioned next to the peg indicator on the strip, the product identifier identifying a product or set of products to be displayed on the peg on the pegboard display;   a first printed demarcation having a position on the strip that corresponds to a first border with a first adjacent product to be displayed adjacent to the product or set of products when the strip is in place on the pegboard display, and a second printed demarcation having a position on the strip that corresponds to a second border with a second adjacent product to be displayed adjacent to the product or set of products when the strip is in place on the pegboard display;   
     
     
         54 . A method for locating product on a pegboard display comprising:
 positioning a stocking strip on the pegboard display, the stocking strip comprising:
 a strip for locating one or more products on the pegboard display, wherein the strip comprises: 
 a peg indicator that indicates a peg on the pegboard-display, the peg indicator having a position on the strip that corresponds to the position of the peg on the pegboard display when the strip is in position on the pegboard display, and 
 a product identifier that identifies a specific product or set of products to be displayed on the peg, the product identifier being located next to the peg indicator on the strip. 
   
     
     
         55 . A method for locating product on a pegboard display comprising:
 positioning a first vertical stocking strip on the pegboard display, the first vertical stocking strip comprising:
 a plurality of indicators printed thereon for indicating vertical locations at which a plurality of horizontal Stocking strips are to be positioned on the pegboard display; and 
   positioning the plurality of horizontal stocking strips on the pegboard display substantially in accordance with the plurality of indicators, wherein a given horizontal stocking strip comprises:
 a peg indicator that indicates a peg on the pegboard display, the peg indicator having a position on the given horizontal strip that corresponds to the position of the peg on the pegboard when the given horizontal strip is in place on the pegboard display, and 
 a product identifier that identifies a product to be displayed on the peg, the product identifier being positioned next to the peg indicator on the strip. 
   
     
     
         56 . A method for locating product on a pegboard display comprising:
 positioning a horizontal stocking strip in a substantially horizontal arrangement on the pegboard display, wherein the horizontal strip comprises:
 a strip for locating at least one product on the pegboard display, the strip including: 
 a peg indicator that indicates a location of a peg on the pegboard display, the peg indicator having a position on the strip that corresponds to the position of the peg on the pegboard display when the strip is in place on the pegboard display, and 
 a product identifier that identifies a specific product or set of products to be displayed on the peg, the product identifier being positioned next to the peg indicator; 
   positioning a peg shaft of the peg substantially in-accordance with the peg indicator; and   positioning the specific product or set of products on the peg shaft.   
     
     
         57 . A method for manufacturing a stocking strip for locating product on a pegboard display using a computer system, the stocking strip including a peg indicator that indicates a position of a peg on the pegboard display, the peg indicator having a position on the stocking strip that corresponds to a position of the peg on the pegboard when the stocking strip is in place on the pegboard display, and a product identifier that identifies a specific product or set of products to be displayed on the peg, the product identifier being positioned on the stocking strip next to the peg indicator, the method comprising:
 inputting a set of planogram data records into the computer system, the planogram data records including data comprising information related to a plurality of products to be positioned on the pegboard display and an arrangement of fixtures for the pegboard display; 
 inputting at least one product image corresponding to at least one of the plurality of products to be positioned on the pegboard display; 
 inputting a stocking location or physical layout of a sales establishment at which the pegboard display is to be located; 
 approving a predetermined arrangement of product information to be printed on a stocking strip, wherein the product information is obtained from the planogram data or the at least one product image; and 
 printing the stocking strip according to the predetermined arrangement of product information. 
 
     
     
         58 . A system for manufacturing a stocking strip for locating product on a pegboard display, the stocking strip including a peg indicator that indicates a position of a peg on the pegboard display, the peg indicator having a position on the stocking strip that corresponds to a position of the peg on the pegboard when the stocking strip is in place on the pegboard display, and a product identifier that identifies a specific product or set of products to be displayed on the peg, the product identifier being positioned on the stocking strip next to the peg indicator, the system comprising:
 inputting means for receiving product data for producing the stocking strips, wherein the product data comprises a) a set of planogram data records comprising information related to a plurality of products to be positioned on the pegboard display, and b) at least one product image corresponding to at least one of the plurality of products to be positioned on the pegboard display;   specifying means for specifying an arrangement of product information to be printed on a stocking strip, wherein the product information is obtained from the planogram data or the at least one product image; and   printing means for printing the stocking strip according to the specified arrangement.   
     
     
         59 . A method for manufacturing a stocking strip for locating product on a pegboard display, the stocking strip including a peg indicator that indicates a position of a peg on the pegboard display, the peg indicator having a position on the stocking strip that corresponds to a position of the peg on the pegboard when the stocking strip is in place on the pegboard display, and a product identifier that identifies a specific product or set of products to be displayed on the peg, the product identifier being positioned on the stocking strip next to the peg indicator, the method comprising:
 receiving product data for producing the stocking strips, wherein the product data comprises a) a set of planogram data records comprising information related to a plurality of products to be positioned on the pegboard display, and b) at least one product image corresponding to at least one of the plurality of products to be positioned on the pegboard display; 
 specifying an arrangement of product information to be printed on a stocking strip, wherein the product information is obtained from the planogram data or the at least one product image; and 
 printing the stocking strip according to the specified arrangement. 
 
     
     
         60 . Computer readable storage media having computer instructions for enabling a computer system to perform a method for manufacturing a stocking strip for locating product on a pegboard display, the stocking strip including a peg indicator that indicates a position of a peg on the pegboard display, the peg indicator having a position on the stocking strip that corresponds to a position of the peg on the pegboard when the stocking strip is in place on the pegboard display, and a product identifier that identifies a specific product or set of products to be displayed on the peg, the product identifier being positioned on the stocking strip next to the peg indicator, the instructions when executed configuring the computer system to:
 receive product data for producing the stocking strips, wherein the product data comprises a) a set of planogram data records comprising information related to a plurality of products to be positioned on the pegboard display, and b) at least one product image corresponding to at least one of the plurality of products to be positioned on the pegboard display;   specify an arrangement of product information to be printed on a stocking strip, wherein the product information is obtained from the planogram data or the at least one product image;   print the stocking strip according to the specified arrangement; and   receive a stocking location or a physical layout of a sales establishment at which the pegboard display will be displayed.   
     
     
         61 . A computer implemented system for printing strips to indicate product position on a pegboard having a number of rows and columns of peg holes for receiving peg feet of a peg, the peg further having a shaft, the system comprising:
 a database for storing planogram data for indicating, for a first pegboard at a given location within a retail location, products to be displayed on the first pegboard and a position of the products on the first pegboard; and   a processor programmed with computer executable instructions configured to print a number of product positioning strips, the product positioning strips including:
 i) a first horizontal strip, to be positioned-horizontally at a first portion of a first row of the first pegboard, the first horizontal strip product having printed thereon:
 a) pegboard identification information to indicate the pegboard to which the first strip relates, 
 b) a peg indicator that indicates a position of a peg on the pegboard display, the peg indicator having a position on the stocking strip that corresponds to a position of the peg on the pegboard when the stocking strip is in place on the pegboard display, and 
 
 c) at least first product information to indicate a first product to be positioned on the first row portion, the at least first product information being positioned on the first horizontal strip next to the peg indicator.
