Seaweed-derived cosmetic compositions

Abstract

A cosmetic composition is disclosed for applying to skin. The composition includes a liquid and dispersed in the liquid: any amount or form of fucoidan, any amount or form of beta glucan; and any amount of a marine extract. When the cosmetic composition is applied to the skin, the appearance of the skin is improved.

1 . A cosmetic composition for applying to skin, the composition comprising a liquid comprising the following components in weight percentages of the total weight of the composition:
 about 5-15% glycolic and salicylic acids;   about 4-10% beta glucan and fucoidan;   about 4-10% of a marine extract, wherein the marine extract comprises Astaxanthin, and wherein the marine extract further comprises one or more of  Undaria pinnatifida, Ecklonia cava , and  Alteromonas macleodii.

         6 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises: ascorbyl polypeptide, niacinamide, ferulic acid, and retinol.

         9 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises: an  Enteromorpha  species, a  Laminaria  species, and a  Fucus  species. 
     
     
         10 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises: oleic acid, adenosine triphosphate, and a flavonoid. 
     
     
         11 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the marine extract is a brown seaweed. 
     
     
         12 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the marine extract is  Undaria pinnatifida.    
     
     
         13 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the marine extract is  Ulva lactuta.    
     
     
         14 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the marine extract is Astaxanthin. 
     
     
         15 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises any amount of the following: ascorbyl phosphate, niacinamide, ferulic acid, and retinol. 
     
     
         16 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the marine extract comprises Astaxanthin and  Undaria pinnatifida.    
     
     
         17 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the marine extract comprises Astaxanthin,  Ecklonia cava , and  Alteromonas macleodii.    
     
     
         18 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises tourmaline and volcanic obsidian. 
     
     
         19 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises  Aloe barbedensis  leaf extract. 
     
     
         20 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises hydrolyzed pearl nacre and chitosan. 
     
     
         21 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises phospholipids. 
     
     
         22 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises a complex of glyceryl stearate, stearic acid, cetearyl alcohol, ceteareth 20, and isopropyl palmitate. 
     
     
         23 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises a complex of tocotrienol, tocopheryl acetate, niacinamide, and chrithmum maritimum. 
     
     
         24 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises an aqueous extract comprising a complex of  vitis vinifera, Chamomile matricaria, Echinacea augustifolia, panax ginseng, glycine soja , and allantoin. 
     
     
         25 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises a complex of butylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, caprylyl glycol, sorbic acid, and peg8/SMDI copolymer. 
     
     
         26 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises aqueous superoxide dismutase liposomes.
