Abstract

An archery sight assembly for aiming bows including, without limitation, compound bows. An adjustable mounting bracket connects the archery sight assembly to a bow and permits position adjustment of a sight window relative to the bow. At least two rigid optical sight pins are visible through the sight window. A length of fiber optic cable extends from the tip of a first optical sight pin, through a transparent housing, and attaches to the tip of a second optical sight pin. The optical sight pins have an offset angle to provide a gap between the pins, thereby improving the archer's field of vision.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . A sight for aiming a bow having a longitudinal axis comprising:
 (a) a mounting bracket adapted to attach to a bow;   (b) a sight window attached to said mounting bracket, wherein said sight window defines an opening;   (c) at least one optical sight pin comprising:
 (i) a base member; 
 (ii) a body section integrally attached to said base member, wherein said body section is at least partially visible through said opening of said sight window, and wherein said body section is oriented at an acute angle relative to said longitudinal axis of said bow; and 
 (d) at least one fiber optic cable attached said at least one optical sight pin. 
   
     
     
         2 . The sight of  claim 1 , wherein the position of said sight window is vertically adjustable relative to said bow. 
     
     
         3 . The sight of  claim 1 , wherein the position of said sight window is horizontally adjustable relative to said bow. 
     
     
         4 . The sight of  claim 1 , wherein each of said at least one optical sight pin can be selectively positioned within said sight window. 
     
     
         5 . A sight for aiming a bow comprising:
 (a) a mounting bracket adapted to attach to a bow;   (b) a sight window attached to said mounting bracket, wherein said sight window defines an opening and has at least one elongate slot oriented parallel to said bow;   (c) at least one optical sight pin comprising:
 (i) a base having a longitudinal axis, wherein said base is slidably disposed within said at least one elongate slot; and 
 (ii) a substantially planar body section at least partially visible through said opening of said sight window, wherein said substantially planar body section is oriented at an acute angle relative to said longitudinal axis of said base; and 
   (d) at least one fiber optic cable attached to said at least one optical sight pin.   
     
     
         6 . The sight of  claim 5 , wherein said acute angle is in the range between ten and twenty degrees. 
     
     
         7 . The sight of  claim 6 , wherein said acute angle is approximately twelve degrees. 
     
     
         8 . The sight of  claim 5 , wherein the position of said sight window is vertically adjustable relative to said bow. 
     
     
         9 . The sight of  claim 5 , wherein the position of said sight window is horizontally adjustable relative to said bow. 
     
     
         10 . The sight of  claim 5 , wherein each of said at least one optical sight pin can be selectively secured in place within said at least one elongate slot. 
     
     
         11 . An optical sight pin for use in a bow sight comprising:
 (a) a base having a longitudinal axis; and   (b) a substantially planar body section connected to said base, said substantially planar body section having a first edge, a second edge and a width, wherein said substantially planar body section is oriented at an acute angle relative to said longitudinal axis of said base.   
     
     
         12 . The sight pin of  claim 11 , wherein said acute angle is in the range between ten and twenty degrees. 
     
     
         13 . The sight pin of  claim 12 , wherein said acute angle is approximately twelve degrees. 
     
     
         14 . The optical sight pin of  claim 11 , wherein said first edge comprises a concave shape. 
     
     
         15 . The optical sight pin of  claim 11 , wherein said second edge comprises a convex shape. 
     
     
         16 . The optical sight pin of  claim 11 , further comprising at least one eyelet disposed along said second edge. 
     
     
         17 . The optical sight pin of  claim 9 , wherein said optical sight pin is constructed of stainless steel. 
     
     
         18 . The optical sight pin of  claim 9 , wherein said optical sight pin is manufactured using a metal injection molding process.
