Apparatus, system and method for disambiguating a request for a media enhancement

Abstract

The present invention is and includes a device, system and method for providing an image enhancement widget. The device, system and method include a javascript component that, upon execution, obtains at least one subject of primary content on a networked page, and at least one permission for enhancement of the primary content, ones of a plurality of content produced remotely from the javascript component and according to the javascript component, and an enhancement widget. The enhancement widget may be a flash widget.

1 . A computer-implemented system for providing a disambiguation of a key word in a web page based on content of the key word on the web page, the system including a server computer that comprises:
 a searchable database comprising a plurality of key words and statistics and content regarding the key words;   an enhancement engine operative to:
 receive a request for an enhancement to a browser application displaying a web page on a remote computer; 
 analyze the web page displayed in the browser application; and 
 identify subject matter of the web page as searched ones of the key words; 
   a key word listing, communicatively connected to said searchable database, comprising a plurality of identifiers each related to at least one of the key words; and   a plurality of structured data related to the key words in said key word listing, wherein said structured data is suitable to allow said enhancement engine to select the statistics and the content regarding the searched key words;   wherein the identifiers correspondent to the searched key words are used by the enhancement engine to determine a context of ones of the searched keywords that have at least two possible meanings to disambiguate the searched key words and to thereby enable selection of ones of the statistics and the content that are properly responsive to the request for an enhancement; and   wherein the statistics and the content are correlated to the enhancement.   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the searched key words include a brand. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the received request comprises a request for an application. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein said plurality of identifiers comprise generic terms. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein said plurality of identifiers comprise specific terms. 
     
     
         6 . A method for providing a disambiguation of a key word in a web page based on context of the key word on the web page, comprising:
 receiving a request for an enhancement to a browser application displaying a web page on a remote computer;   analyzing the web page displayed on the remote computer to identify subject matter of the web page as search key words;   identifying, in accordance with a plurality of identifiers correspondent to the search key words, a content of use of ones of the searched key words;   disambiguating the searched key words using the context of the searched key words that have at least two possible meanings;   selecting, in accordance with structured data, statistics and content regarding the disambiguated search key words that is properly responsive to the request for the enhancement to the remote browser.
