Abstract

Stable formulations for the oral administration of therapeutic agents, methods for administering therapeutic agents using the formulations, and methods for treating conditions and diseases using the formulations.

1 . An amphotericin B formulation, comprising,
 (a) amphotericin B;   (b) one or more fatty acid glycerol esters; and   (c) one or more polyethylene oxide-containing fatty acid esters; and   (d) a tocopherol polyethylene glycol succinate.   
     
     
         2 . A method for treating an infectious disease treatable by the administration of amphotericin B, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of an amphotericin B formulation of  claim 1 . 
     
     
         3 . A formulation for the delivery of a therapeutic agent, comprising,
 (a) a therapeutic agent;   (b) one or more fatty acid glycerol esters;   (c) one or more polyethylene oxide-containing fatty acid esters; and   (d) a tocopherol polyethylene glycol succinate.   
     
     
         4 . A method for administering a therapeutic agent, comprising administering a formulation of  claim 3  to a subject in need of such agent. 
     
     
         5 . A composition for formulating a therapeutic agent, comprising,
 (a) one or more fatty acid glycerol esters;   (b) one or more polyethylene oxide-containing fatty acid esters; and   (c) a tocopherol polyethylene glycol succinate.   
     
     
         6 . A method for formulating a therapeutic agent, comprising combining a therapeutic agent with a composition of  claim 5 .
