Abstract
A flying disc carrying clip for holding a flying disc and methods of using the same. The carrying clip preferably is formed from a material molded into at least three sections having a first section of a substantially closed loop to secure the carrying clip to a garment, gear, or a securing device; a second, generally U-shaped section contoured to fixedly engage a flying disc; and a third section having a release flange, whereby the engaged flying disc may be disengaged by holding the flying disc stationary while applying an upward force to the release flange.

1 . A flying disc carrying clip for holding a flying disc, said carrying clip formed from a material molded into at least three sections comprising:
a first section comprising a substantially closed loop to secure the carrying clip to a garment, gear, or a securing device; a second, generally U-shaped section contoured to fixedly engage a flying disc; a third section comprising a release flange, whereby the engaged flying disc may be disengaged by holding the flying disc stationary while applying an upward force to the release flange.
2 . The flying disc carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein said carrying clip comprises a one-piece integrally molded member.
3 . The flying disc carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein said carrying clip comprises a resilient material.
4 . The flying disc carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein the flying disc comprises a rim lip, a rim edge, and a rim inner cheek and the U-shaped section comprises an opening, said opening comprising an initial selected distance, the initial selected distance being undersized with respect to the flying disc's rim edge.
5 . The flying disc carrying clip according to claim 4 , wherein the flying disc comprises a rim lip, a rim edge, and a rim inner cheek and the initial selected distance at the opening of the U-shaped section expands during insertion of the flying disc's rim edge and contracts back to the initial selected distance after insertion of the flying disc's rim edge.
6 . The flying disc carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein the flying disc comprises a rim lip, a rim edge, and a rim inner cheek and the U-shaped section is contoured to fixedly engage rim edge, the rim lip, and the rim inner cheek of the flying disc.
7 . The flying disc carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein the engaged flying disc may be disengaged without the removing of the carrying clip from the garment, gear, or securing device.
8 . The flying disc carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein the release flange comprises a substantially closed loop.
9 . The flying disc carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein the first section is secured to a key chain ring.
10 . A method of engaging and releasing a flying disc from a carrying clip comprising:
providing a flying disc; providing a carrying clip formed from a material molded into at least three sections comprising:
a first section comprising a substantially closed loop to secure the carrying clip to a garment, gear, or a securing device;
a second, generally U-shaped section contoured to fixedly engage a flying disc;
a third section comprising a release flange;
attaching the carrying clip to a garment, gear, or securing device through the use of the first section; inserting the flying disc into U-shaped section; disengaging the flying disc from the U-shaped section by holding the flying disc stationary while applying an upward force to the release flange.
11 . The method of engaging and releasing a flying disc from a carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein said carrying clip comprises a one-piece integrally molded member.
12 . The method of engaging and releasing a flying disc from a carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein said carrying clip comprises a resilient material.
13 . The method of engaging and releasing a flying disc from a carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein the flying disc comprises a rim edge, a rim lip, and a rim inner cheek and the U-shaped section of the flying disc carrying clip comprises an opening having an initial selected distance, the initial selected distance being undersized with respect to the flying disc's rim edge.
14 . The method of engaging and releasing a flying disc from a carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein the flying disc comprises a rim edge, a rim lip, and a rim inner cheek and the initial selected distance at the opening of the U-shaped section expands during insertion of the flying disc's rim edge and contracts back to the initial selected distance after insertion of the flying disc's rim edge.

The method of engaging and releasing a flying disc from a carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein the flying disc comprises a rim edge, a rim lip, and a rim inner cheek and the U-shaped section is contoured to fixedly engage the rim edge, the rim lip, and the rim inner cheek of the flying disc.
16 . The method of engaging and releasing a flying disc from a carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein the engaged flying disc may be disengaged without the removing of the carrying clip from the garment, gear, or securing device.
17 . The method of engaging and releasing a flying disc from a carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein the release flange comprises a substantially closed loop.
18 . The method of engaging and releasing a flying disc from a carrying clip according to claim 1 , wherein the first section is secured to a key chain ring.
19 . A flying disc carrying clip for holding a flying disc comprising a rim edge, a rim lip, and a rim inner cheek, said carrying clip formed from a one-piece integrally molded member having at least three sections comprising:
a first section comprising a substantially closed loop secured to a key chain ring, the key chain ring allowing for attachment of the carrying clip to a garment, gear, or securing device; a second, generally U-shaped section comprising an opening having an initial selected distance, the initial selected distance being undersized with respect to the flying disc's rim edge, the initial selected distance expanding during insertion of the flying disc's rim edge and contracting back to the initial selected distance after insertion of the flying disc's rim edge, the U-shaped section contoured to fixedly engage the rim edge, the rim lip, and the rim inner cheek of the flying disc; a third section comprising a release flange comprising a substantially closed loop, whereby the engaged flying disc may be disengaged by holding the flying disc stationary while applying an upward force to the release flange.
20 . A method of engaging and releasing a flying disc from a carrying clip comprising:
providing a flying disc comprising a rim edge, a rim lip, and a rim inner cheek; providing a carrying clip formed from a one-piece integrally molded member having at least three sections comprising:
a first section comprising a substantially closed loop to secure the carrying clip to a key chain ring;
a second, generally U-shaped section comprising an opening having an initial selected distance, the initial selected distance being undersized with respect to the flying disc's rim edge, the initial selected distance expanding during insertion of the flying disc's rim edge and contracting back to the initial selected distance after insertion of the flying disc's rim edge, the U-shaped section contoured to fixedly engage the rim edge, the rim lip, and the rim inner cheek of the flying disc;
a third section comprising a release flange comprising a substantially closed loop;
attaching the carrying clip to a garment, gear, or securing device through the use of the key chain attached to first section; inserting the flying disc into U-shaped section; disengaging the flying disc from the U-shaped section by holding the flying disc stationary while applying an upward force to the release flange.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
